I was always a major Vincent Price and Hitchcock fan. Their villains always had a certain texture to them. I prefer the suspense thrillers to the blood-for-the-sake-of-gore horror flicks. How many different ways can you impale a boinking couple? Give me mindful and thinking villains who create novel ways and reasons for their victims...like preserving them in molten wax.

Prime example: Freddy Kruger, Leatherface, Michael Myers...absolutely no affect on my daily life...but...I still catch myself looking over my shoulder whenever I shower in a hotel room...Thirty-five years after first watching that film!! Every time I see a large flock of birds within close proximity to me...I start getting a tad nervous. Whenever I see a St. Bernard, I instinctively make a mental note of the nearest door...and I adore St. Bernards! Now THOSE are villains I can sink my fear into!!!

Know what you mean. The Killers that get into your head are great classics.
Big Hitchcock fan.
Norman Bate stole a piece of my heart.

Doubt if I will ever do anything with Birds. They freak me out.

Just wanted to let you know that they are making that last Sleep away camp. And they are using the same little Angela Baker.

I have to go with Freddy Krueger.

Not only did I love his first movie... not only did I kind of enjoy the other movies...(Who could forget what he said to patricia Arquette as he slammed her head into the television "Welcome to the prime time...B****") but who can really beat Freddy? I can!

He came to me in my dreams a few times, I beat the living spit out of him!

Hooray for Cliff!

I concur with the scary little doll from trilogy of terror. Karen Black did a nice job, or maybe that little sucker did cut her legs up...

(P.S I always found Dr Phibes funny, not scary - still remember the locutst though)

My favourite horror villian though is Olivier as dentist, the stuff of nightmares.
