If he doesn't mind making a career out of imitation and being unoriginal good for him...

Wow. Copperfields people are going to have his tail end in a sling. That's just theft.
What an insult. I'm going to leave it at that so I don't get carried away.

Something is not right about this guy. Some tricks should just be left to Copperfield and this huy is breaking that rule!

In some of these he tries to copy the presentation exactly and fails....horribly.
It just goes to show that Copperfield doesn't just DO good illusions...he performs them very well.

Couldn't really see the videos too well. Poor quality, but what I could tell was that it looked exactly what Copperfield does, even costuming. I don't know what to say until we know more from the two sources.
reedrc what DVD does Copperfield mention allen allen? |

The sad reality of many magic acts today, when will people learn its ok to do the same tricks but do them different, be original and be yourself. That’s who the audience wants to see.

Dear Reedc,
Copperfield is not talking about this guy on his dvd! he is referring to the English escape artist 'Alan Alan'. Alan Alan also did a guest spot on one of Copperfields early tv specials performing his upside down escape. |

Yeah - I believe Alan Alan is credited to working with David on the Fires of Passion Escape. That video is a chap ripping off Copperfield's version of Alan Alan's burning rope straight jacket escape.
Well they say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery - how flattered must DC be. Sheesh! |

Two words...Rip off!!
It is such a shame......... By the look of this guy's photos/video he is working in a venues that 'look' big, so you should think that he is getting paid good money? So why can't he buy illusions that he has the right to perform, perhaps he has that right but I think it that's unlikey. So, he is performing the not his own illusions but seems to be getting paid peanuts. You give peanuts to the MONKEYS! So why does not this guy become the next Copperfield because some day someone will be (hang on before you write a new post listen for a bit!) Copperfield will be replaced, FACT, don't believe me, well go and read your magic history books. This guy will NEVER be the new 'big thing' like Copperfield because he walk in Copperfield's shadow. It is such a shame because you can improve on ANY idea, whatever it is. Merry Christmas to you all JA |

What's a bit of a surprise is that all of these videos are totally boring!
DC's particular brand of magic doesn't remove the need for a quality performance from the performer, something that's not delivered here. Try watching every video on the page, you probably can't. By comparisson, if DC had something like this on his web site, I'd probably visit for one reason or another weekly, and could certainly sit through each illusion multiple times and enjoy it. |

I'm surprised he didn't use the exact same songs DC used. He stole the rest of the act, might as well take the whole thing.

Maybe he does have "some" ethics! Different songs means original and new!
This is actually a very good thing here to show people. It shows how two people doing exactly the same act/costuming can be so totally different. Copperfield is engaging and has a rapport with the audience (live and at home watching on tv). This guy is obviously missing that "something". Even though it is a near carbon copy of David's routines, this guy will never equal or outdo David in performance. |
