This is the time of the year when static cling is worst. Most any of the sprays work to solve the problem with your silks. That's why there is one in my case.

Static Cling will work but must be used very sparingly. If you wash the silks with just drop or two of fabric softner, it will also correct the static problem.

I use spray on occasion. But when I roll my silks for storage I put old dryer sheets between them. Seems to do the job.

Mister Mystery,

You know that anytime you want to find out about caring for silky little things us rough tough magicians will be glad to talk with you.

(Nobody's ever going to believe that I came out of a rodeo arena. Ever! Well, there is my lack of English!)

Static will affect your silks in the coldest part of winter. The main thing is deal with it before you go on stage. I even spray down my tux if I know that I will be rubbing against the curtain.

Thank you Bob!

I'll bet you learned a lot in the rodeo arena, but silky little things? From which arena did you learn about those?

Seriously though, I do appreciate all the invaluable information that you and others have been willing to share with me.

Thanks!

And if you wear a corduroy tux, the friction on your legs will generate enough static to light a light bulb.

Corduroy tux? Where would someone with one of those get a light bulb?

Lucy has a hard enough time getting me out of cowboy boots and spurs. I figure if they are dress spurs...

I do wish Wrangler made a good tux. Would it have "W"s on the pockets?

Chris,

Your dryer sheet is a great idea. Did you know that used Bounce sheets also make a good fuse? (I use them at home to start the trash fire. Yes, at home, I'm also the trash guy! There is no dignity.)

I once heard about a guy, when listening to The Bob And Tom Show, who wore a really bad combination of fabrics. The static generated, from his clothes rubbing together, was at around 50,000 volts - at low amps, of course.
