A bit late now, but I had sent out the following this year:
HAPPY HOLIDAY GREETINGS Please accept with no obligation, implied or implicit my best wishes for an environmentally conscious, socially responsible, low stress, non addictive gender neutral, celebration of the winter solstice holiday, practiced within the most enjoyable traditions of the religious persuasion of your choice or secular practices of your choice, with respect for the religious/secular persuasions and/or traditions of others, or their choice not to practice religious or secular traditions at all. I also wish you a fiscally successful, personally fulfilling, and medically uncomplicated recognition of the onset of the generally accepted calendar year 2006, but not without due respect for the calendars of choice of other cultures whose contributions to society have helped make Canada great (not to imply that Canada is necessarily greater than any other country or is the only "Canada" in the western hemisphere), and without regard to the race, creed, color, age, physical ability, religious faith, or sexual preference of the wishee. By accepting this greeting, you are accepting these terms: This greeting is subject to clarification or withdrawal. It is freely transferable with no alteration to the original greeting. It implies no promise by the wisher to actually implement any of the wishes for her/himself or others, and is void where prohibited by law, and is revocable at the sole discretion of the wisher. This wish is warranted to perform as expected within the usual application of good tidings for a period of one year, or until the issuance of a subsequent holiday greeting, whichever comes first, and warranty is limited to replacement of this wish or issuance of a new wish at the sole discretion of the wisher. ENOUGH, ENOUGH, ENOUGH . . . MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU ALL! Sad that we have come to this isn't it. |

What is really sad about the politically correct movement is that there is not a day that passes that I am not offended in some way from deep offense to minor. But I am not about to stop the world, whine and complain then make a Federal Case about it. It's called life and we need to not sweat the small stuff and appreciate the great country we live in.

Hurricanes were female gendered name, now both male and female names are used, however, they are not culture sensitive named, so we need to add more names to them so we don't offend somebody.
Personally, they should be named after presidents. Boy, could we have fun with those names. What do they call the tree in so many house with the lights on it? A Christmas Tree! Not a Holiday Tree. (That will soon change too!)

Has anyone noticed that the term "politically correct" is usually used by only people who are anti political correctness?

So what is the word used by those who agree with the rubbish being perpetrated?

Nicholas,
Actually, the term started as a kind of ironic joke among leftists. Unfortunately, the program got picked up by a bunch of humorless telephone sanitizers. The real opposite of PC is not being a warmongering, culturally-insensitve racist, but this sentiment expressed by Thomas Jefferson in a private letter: "I have sworn upon the altar of God eternal hostility against every form of tyranny over the mind of man." The ones against political correctness are usually just called "intolerant".
