It is the best magazine for Kids magicians. Lots of ideas.

I've read the sample and it's great.
Are the editors considering the possibility to put an online edition in the market? Thank you

Nice website Ken, and some nice ideas. Your advice on entertaining older kids spot on, - but sorry Marty on the website - personality AND props. make for an EVEN BETTER show (as long as there are no chainsaw massacres for kids!). Do guys who only make one trip from the car like Marty use a mike and a small combo amp. or do they shout their tonsils out in a large hall with 40 kids? Do they not even carry a folding table - or do they just sling a bit of velvet over anything to work from? What about a dark church hall in winter with dim, or even worse, fluorescent lighting - not even a few coloured bulbs in a box to sparkle up the image? Without wanting to be confrontational I say "long live one suitcase magicians" as over the years we have found them such a pushover business wise! Guess we can't all be the same, and I know lots of sunshine State USA entertainers are required to work outside all the while which requires as little equipment as possible, as well concealed and guarded as possible! "You say tomayto, I say tomaato" etc. (George Gershwin).

Ace;
Totally agree. I have three trips in to a house. I bring alot of stuff and they are paying top dollar. I want to make their living room a theater. Thanks again, Ken |

That's a good saying Ken: "turn their living room into a theatre (theater) because they are paying top dollar" I could not agree more on this plus your views on microphones as well. When we started there was an elderly couple called Mr and Mrs Woods in the business. They carried in a VW camper a Punch and Judy outfit, vent. dolls, magic show and portable electronic organ would you believe. They are both deceased now, but they set the standards in our area, - standards which we have followed and maintained. - Best Wishes - Tony. What I would like to know is how all these different spellings of words came about, yet we all claim to speak English. Check/cheque, theatre/theater etc. etc. (the list is endless). By the way Phillip, do you do Welsh language shows?

Ken Scott,
Excellent article you did this month in the "Funny Paper" magazine. I really like the workshop addition to your shows. The information written is worth the subscription to the magazine. By the way reader, if you do Kids Magic on a regular basis, forget Magic or Genii magazines, (not really) this magazine is loaded with usable routines and information. Today, I got all three and the first I choose to read was the Funny Paper. I spent more time in that magazine than the other two combined!

I realize this thread is over 10 years old, but was wondering if this publication is still being produced? Couldn't find a website and wasn't sure how current some of the back issues are that are being sold. Anyone know what the status is?

Sorry, but I've never subscribed to it. I'm just aware of it.
I seem to recall they were behind on some issues at one time. Let's see if Skip, Ken, or Dennis can give us an update on it. - Donald

Sammy is working on an issue right now. I just finished an interview with Bev Bergeron for him. I'm sure Sammy is doing his best considering the pressure he's under with The Linking Ring. I'm not sure what his long term plans for the magazine are.
