Man, what a game! Go Horns! ;^)
Maybe Vince Young should have won the Heisman, after all. The Texas QB threw for 267 yards, ran for 200 yards and scored three TDs. This will go down as one of the great games in college football history. Stressful, but VERY enjoyable game. Mark

Woohoooo! Go Longhorns!!! I was at work and everybody was tuned in to their radios. The USC fans thought it was all over for UT but, as the famous cliché goes, "It ain't over 'till the fat lady sings."

Awesome game. I didn't really have a favorite so I just enjoyed all the great action and great plays. I was in shock when Texas made that final drive and Young just strolled into the endzone for the game winner. I still think Reggie Bush was deserving of the Heisman, but that was a great game.

Great game. Lendale White had one helluva game also. I'm looking forward to Young and Bush playing in the NFL. They showed some skills last night.
I was also glad to see Joe Pa and Penn State win two nights ago. |

Yes it was a good game, a great game. Even though I wanted USC to win (don't ever put much weight in anything I have to say regarding sports).
The only thing I had to say about this game that proved to be true was... "the team that scores the last touchdown will win". Very clever I know.

I'm glad for Badger fans too. Alvarez is a class act. Isn't he staying on as Athletic director? Does he have any plans to coach in the NFL? |

No he's not going to coach in the NFL. I wish he would interview for the Pack since they canned Mike Sherman, but he said he has no interest.
Barry will stay on as AD, so I'm sure he will have a great program. His successor is a really young guy. Barry says he's gonna be great. We'll see. That was great for Joe Pa. I wasn't with those guys that were in favor of getting rid of him a few years back. He can still coach, and with all he's done he should be able to, basically, stay as long as he wants to. Vandy

So, what would *you* have done if you were coaching USC?
Gone for it on fourth and 1.5 yards to go? Or punt? I would have gone for it. Stopping Young would have been hard (as we saw on the last touchdown drive), and LenDale White was chewing up the Longhorns through the middle.

I would have gone for it too. But it's such a tough call.

The miscommunication on the previous fourth down play was costly for USC too, they were their own worst enemy in the first half.

How about those laterals? Young got away with one but a couple of them were ill-advised.

I don't know why Carroll didn't call time out on that lateral when Youngs knee was down. I believe it was on USC prior possesion where a replay showed the Texas did indeed make the interception. They had plenty of time to challenge. I don't know why he didn't.

It never occurred to me (or the announcers) that Young's knee might have been down on the lateral until the slow-motion replay.
There apparently was a breakdown in the monitors in the booth, so it was not reviewed.

Is that right? I didn;t hear that about the monitors.
I was yelling "his knee is down, his knee is down" Jackson blew the call completely. When the ball was lateraled he said "The ball came loose!!" I'm sitting there yelling. "The ball didn't come loose you moron! That was a designed option, but HIS KNEE WAS DOWN!!" LOL Vandy

WOOOOO GO LONGHORNS!!! I think it would be interesting if Vince Young and Reggie bush ended up on the same NFL team. That would be a option team for the ages.

I am a Sooner fan and had a hard time rooting for the Long Horns, but go big XII! They had a great season and deserved to finally win another championship.
