It's a sleight that was co-developed between Tony Kardyro and Edward Marlo, hence the anagram KM. It is a very versatile sleight and it is covered in the Card College Vol. III (I believe). I use it in my ACR. It originally provided a method of switching the card shown during a DL while turning it back over face down. There are other variations and uses.

The only video reference that I know of is Syd Segal's DVD "Gaft Card Magic". It's a good DVD including the gaffs necessary for the effects.

It's a technique for ditching the hidden card of a DL. If you saw it done you'd know how it's done.
Why don't you have Card College? |

Eric DeCamps also uses it quite a bit on his Tannen "Stars of Magic" video, particularly in his Joker's are Wild routine.

Yeah, maybe I should buy it. But no one has a video on the Internet of it?

I'm pretty sure Doc Eason does it on one of his tapes.
Sorry to be vague. |

Is the KM move a gaff or is it a sleight. I think I just remebered what is was but I'm not sure.

Hey Sodman12,
you seem a bit frustrated by the responses you received, but it looks like KRZ4kards quite adequately answered your question in the very first response you received- he told you what it was, who developed it, where to find it, and what it accomplishes. I didn't post any more info. becauase I thought it was covered. In fact, he answered your follow up question in the first 3 words: You wrote: Quote:

KM move is also taught in most card magic dvds and magician like Jay Sankey covers it in his Greatest Hits and Rev. Card Magic.

Hey Sodman,
Why don't you do some research yourself by looking it up in various books or even videos as mentioned above instead of looking for a freebie? No one like to put in the work these days. Sheeesh Best, Trini

Michael Skinner uses the move with a touch that I consider rather beautiful. Take a gander at the "Michael Skinner" issue of Genii.
One time, when I was young, I botched a sleight so bad, Vernon, Marlo & Miller rolled over in their graves. But I didn't see Elmsley, probably because he was behind the others.

Even if someone finally speaks, you can't get important finess in handling. Especially KM move is a move fine touches are needed.

Incredible...
A total freshie just got a freebie by guys just eager to pump up their post-count, I'm sure... He asked a question, which was answered in the first post by KRZ4kardz. And also, when sodman12 asks whether it's a gaff or sleight and says he almost remembered it - he could just have read that first post. Then, of course, some bloke has to expose it... sodman12: From this thread on, I'll allways think twice before I answer a question set by you. In this post, you were so obviously pumping for information that I cannot take you seriously. Read the rules and ethics to this forum...

I'm so sorry. I guess I just didn't think one little slight was that big of a deal. I just wanted to know what it was since everyone had been talking about it. And I had already seen it as well as used it, but just didn't know it had been called that!

Calm down Samuel. Nobody exposed the move, and nobody is obsessed about their "post counts." The closest thing to exposure would be Roland's post, and that was so vague that nobody could figure it out or recognize it being performed. He didn't expose the move.
People are just trying to answer the poor guy's question, even if he is pumping for a freebie. He didn't really get a freebie about the KM, not in any meaningful way. |
