I believe it is Penn. He's the big guy. I can never remember which is which.
Anyways he has a red painted pinky fingernail. Does anyone now of the significance of this. Sammy Davis Jr. also had a red pinky fingernail. I think there is a statement here but I don't know for sure. Can someone help??? Just curious edh

Yes, Penn is the big one. Teller is actually 5' 9", which is by no means small, but he does rather get dwarfed by Penn.
From Wikipedia: Quote:
Speculation arises from Penn's red fingernail on his left hand. From an FAQ from Penn and Teller's official website, there are three common answers: |

Why the red pinky fingernail? I read that Nick Nolte also painted his pinky bright red. And his reason for this? Nick explained that he just did it for fun and to match his toenails because his toenails all turn yellow. Apprently the nail polish kills the stuff that make them yellow.
It all sounds perfectly logical. It obviously is fun for Nick

From a Penn and Teller FAQ:
Q) What's the deal with Penn's one red fingernail? A1) From: toad@****.org (Tony ******) Way back in the mid-80s, Penn came into the audience, and a lady asked him why he paints the fingernail. His answer: "For the same reason you do." I guess that means that he does it because he likes to look pretty. |

Many years ago I was going out with a girl who painted my toe nails red when I was asleep. Very funny I thought when I awoke. That night I ended up in jail and the first thing they make you do is take a shower with about half dozen other criminals. “Nice shade” One guy said. I tried to explain but he said. “We are all innocent in here son.”
Anyway here’s a tip: If you get a ladder in your stocking put a bit of nail polish on it and it will stop it running any further.

For those of you in the US, a "ladder" is the British term for a "run."

Tommy, your fund of knowledge never ceases to amaze me, but I must say that wearing nail polish to jail may not always be the best of ideas...

Yep it’s not always a good idea at the time even if it seems to be. I think I will paint my pinky nail red to remind me of that. Maybe that will keep me on the straight and narrow.
Emm... I wonder if I could use it as a glim.

I am not accusing Penn of anything but the people I knew that had a long pinkey nail used it to do "bumps" (they would dip their finger in a bag of cocaine and snort it instead of using a cole spoon).

Silly Walter, Penn doesn't have long pinky nails. It's just painted red.

In the early 1980s a "club" thing involving a painted fingernail got popular. Perhaps some review of the popular "alternative scene" literature would turn up some pictures and perhaps a commnet. I'm thinking "The Cure" and the black nail polish/goth thing with roots in the "new romantic" movement. Have to go looking to check this tough.

It is Penn's left ring finger nail that is painted red, not his pinky.

Now that's earthshattering news!
Any info about the color of any other parts of his body?

Well Sleightly during in the war the Germans counterfeited our English money so I thought it was OK to do the same with theirs. I printed up a couple of million Marks but the authorities didn’t agree. It was not too bad as I ended up in an open prison where the top uniformed screw there turned out to be a magician, I kid you not. He got me a soft job after I showed him card trick. The first few months however in a closed nick were tough. There I wished each night I had studied Houdini methods instead of cards. There is no place on earth like the Strangeways Hotel.

Silly Willy, there is about a zero percent chance that Penn's extra long nail is for cocaine. They are adamant that neither of them has ever done an illegal drug, and they don't even drink a drop of alcohol. Even though they're deceptive by profession, when Penn pontificates on these matters, I tend to believe he is always truthful.

It got you talking about Penn & Teller, did it not?
Out of curiosity, would you be more prone to stare at a painted finger nail on a man or would you avert your eyes?
