I write my own routines and have noticed it is much harder to write for Sally Ann than for Andy.
Andy is more of the cheeky type , where Sally Ann is a nice "girly girl", if you know what I mean. I am learning how important is is to write for the character. My vent mentor says you really throw off your audience if the puppet says someting out of character. Anyone else find the same?

You can work that change of personality into a routine for her.
Example...did you ever notice that when SOME people put a piece of gum in their mouth they suddenly change into 'The Fonze' and get 'cool'? If you haven't noticed it, you will now...pretty funny when it occurs. Give the girl a piece of Wrigley's and let her switch and be 'cool' for a few lines. Take the gum away and switch her back. :donut3: Doug

A couple things jumped into my nearly normal brain.
(after I took my gum out and put it on the corner of the computer monitor) Ladies First from Free to be you and me.... Try using your other hand to control the female character. Watch some saturday morning or afternoon cartoons. At your kid shows, make mental notes of some of your audience members and when finished get them down on paper of digital recorder... Or you could do it the old fashion way and write using a guide like a character development worksheet, that I got from the World Vents Yahoo Group. It is not created by me, but I have used it and passed it on. If you would like a copy..email me at Harris.deutsch@leesummit.k12.mo.us Be safe, well and creative... Harris

Actually that character development sheet was posted there after I gave it to someone else, so I have used it to develop her character, but the writing must be consistent with that charcter.
