Ok we have all discussed favourite magcians but who is your worst. Who couldn't you stand talking to or even watching on video. For me Max Maven just makes my blood boil.

My first thought was... some days, when practicing is not going well for me, I think that I'M the worst magician! But you seem to be asking about personality, etc. and not strictly fouling up the effects.
Tomas Medina's "geek" persona doesn't appeal all that much to me. But, if that works for him, more power to him! Some people must like it or he wouldn't be making a living. I just can't stop thinking, "Honey, I shrunk the kids!" every time I look at him! A lot of folks don't like Sankey's off-beat style either. I think it's just a matter of personal taste. Both these guys do a good job of integrating comedy into their routines. Whether or not you like that particular style of comedy will impact your overall opinion of the magic performance. It sounds to me like what you perceive from some magicians is "arrogance." I think that is definitely a turn-off to most people (magicians and laypeople alike). If someone's an *******, the question is whether or not their personality bleeds into the performance. The best performers can be sweethearts on stage or in front of the camera, but be a nightmare in real life. The opposite can be true (although probably less prevalent)... "I'm not a jerk, but I play one on T.V."

An aspect of Jung's theory of the Shadow archetype may be paraphrased as: those characteristics we can't stand in others are the very ones we fear most in ourselves.

Not a big fan of myself. I've already seen all my tricks so I know how they're done.

Every profession has its bad apples. Say if you are in the Board Of Dentistry, you can sanction the dentist if there is negligence. But the dentist with no personality and poor techniques will pretty soon close its doors as they will not get any patients. In Minnesota, we have magazines that report the good from the bad in the health professions.
Another profession that always stand by their own is the police officers. So why can we bestow this courtesy and generosity to our magicians here at the Café? That being said, the Magicians Happy Hours is a different story

By definition, Valentino. Someone that betrays their oath and fellow magicians would be someone that should be called worst magician.
