I think I may have perfected the healed and sealed can.
http://www.youtube.com/index?v=l-9y9NvaH4Q The soda I was using was cold and doesn't have enough fizz, which is why it took so long. I have to try with pepsi or coca cola. The can cracked and exploded which is why ther is poor editing in the video.

It looks to me like the classic healed&sealed. be more careful with the last part though. the way you performed it kinda gives away what's happening. be specific. what exatcly did you improve there?

I don't mean I made it better, I mean I think I got it down pat.
I am going to try the candle approach.

Do not try a different method if you like the one you used. just try to hide what you do a little better.
good luck -Matt

Quote: I think snatching that 'cover' can be done in a more natural way by just covering it with the thumb whilst the forefinger engages under the tap and at the same time the thumb makes a sweeping motion towards the tap.it should and could be all in one motion, covering the 'cover',sweeping the thumb incl. cover upwards towards the tap and peeling the tap upwards whilst still concealing the 'cover between thumb and forefinger.
On 2006-01-09 15:20, madmatt911 wrote: You shouldn't use your forefinger to peel it off-that was/is the giveaway on that movie-, but cover it with your thumb and then proceed as mentioned, simply place your thumb onto the 'cover' to cover it completely.the candlesolution though sounds to be a good one, but the move should still be as above mentioned, a sweeping move with the thumb TOWARDS the tap to meet the forefinger.good luck.that cover should solely be held by 'adhesion',meaning no glue or similar, but made of plastic that just sucks to the metal beneat, then it can easily slide towards the tap covered by your thumb.also the specs don't need to se the top of the can at this stage!simply tilt the top of the can towards yourself and after your thumb covers the 'cover' and you are ready to open the can, tilt it towards the specs to se it gets opend.just theoretical thoughts, also I know the modus operati,i've never done and don't intend to do the routine. |

To be honest...I like how David Blaine does it . I think it looks the best when you ACTUALLY tip the can upside down and skake it....plus; holding it upside down makes for a FASTER fill up. AS far as the "hole" in the can...You shouldn't use an obvious vanish of the "hole", but more of a circular rub which is the best because.....(I can't post why, ahhh)

I just remembered a time performing this trick in front of dinner table of 12 people on Thanksgiving and I thought I was screwed when my finger slipped from over "you know where" and coke started squirting, but since they didn't see where it was squirting from, I said it was coming from the opening, because that was a sign it was filling up.
