Surprised not to see the 'Scotland Up Close' E-book mentioned in this forum. It's in the 'Good, Bad, garbage' forum a few times, but not in this one. Seeing as it's all card work, thought I would highlight it to the 'Pick a card...any card' forum.

Never found a higher percentage of workable items in any book, DVD, and I've got a few! For example...

-Autograph Hunter
-Total Recall
-Stebbins Prediction
-Veeser meets Steranko
-Thanks to Collins

...to name a few. All these will be added to repetoire forthwith

And before you ask... no, I'm not related, acquainted, or in any way obligated to any of the authors - after all I'm English Smile. Just thought you'd all be missing out if you haven't looked at it.

Anyone else got it, and would like to share their favourite routines from it ? I'm bound to have missed a couple of gems.

I am happy to read that others share my concern about spreading the wealth. I try to buy from the creator as much as possible as they received more money for their effort that way.

Way to go Griff!

I got Scotland Up Close and also bad a chance to meet Gordon Bruce a few days later. It is kind of cool to read the effect and then have the author of the trick go over it with you.

The book is well worth obtaining.

There are soooooo many wonderful stuffs in both of the Peter's ebooks. I really enjoy these ebooks in 2006. I used quite a lot of stuffs in both of the ebooks.

I am now reading England Up Close, I will post my review as soon as possible if I finish digesting all the effects. I read 8 effects and I found 3 effects to my liking and will actually use them. Smile

This is a great e-book but I'm obviously going to say that. I have noticed Andrew Loh that you have similar interests in the card field to myself, I was lucky enough to go and see jerry sadowitz last month needless to say I was'nt disapointed. I actually have personal performances from myself of most of jerrys effects from, cards hit, selected card tricks, alternative card magic, inspirations, cards on the table and thanks to zarrow on my PC. Peter is also a great inspiration and I have a lot to thank him for. Feel free to PM me I could talk about these guys effects all night.

Cheers

Even though I'm returning to magic after a 30 year layoff and am focusing on the classics (Giobbi's Card College, Royal Road, Expert Card Technique, etc) I often purchase contempory card material to try and get 'into the head' of the creator.

I think understanding how other compose, construct and present their work can be helpful, if nothing else it gives you some perspective on work. Not that you'll copy it but its a reference to compare to your own work.

I recently downloaded a copy of Scotland Up Close which had received many good reviews on the Café. My blog, http://www.poolside-refletions.blogspot.com provides a link on how you can download an inexpensive copy of book. As a beginner it has some material which can be added to working inventory but more importantly you can get some perspective on how multiple Scotish cardmen think and work.

If a beginner can be so bold, I recommend you check it out especially at such a low price.

CORRECTIONS! PLEASE READ THIS INSTEAD

Sometimes, especially before my first cup of coffee, I post and wind up with results like my initial post above. I even mis-spelled my blog URL. DOH!

Anyway here is the spelled check version.
