Hello All...
I was given a gift by my wife today. She noticed that I have been playing more and more with money and cards so she went out to our local magic store and picked up a mismade bill for me. However, there are no routines that came with it. I was wondering if anyone can recommend a good website that teaches how to use the mismade bill. Barring that, if someone can teach me through a Private Message, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you. |

ArchMiro,
The most common use of the mismade bill is to use it with a bill switch technique. You borrow a regular dollar and apparently turn it inside out switching in the mismade bill. I prefer to using the mismade bill compared switching bills to different denominations. If you want my preferred bill switch - it is Kevin King's Money Morph available on video at http://www.magicsmith.com |

Although I use my own method for performing the Mismade Bill effect, my method was derived from a number of sources, with my own original idea added. I highly recommend Jarle Leirpoll's "Pocket Power", the book and/or tape. There is an excellent routine on that tape. It may be a while before I publish my method -- I'm in no hurry to release it.

I second the Jarle Leirpoll "Pocket Power." It's simple and clever and uses only two hands and two bills.
However, if you want to go with a TT (so you end slightly cleaner, there are many sources to choose from. "Visi-Bill" was released earlier this year. "Money Morph" has already been mentioned. Jay Sankey has a couple of ideas regarding the bill switch. I may be mistaken, but I think that it was also in one of Harry Anderson's books. I know that he did it on his TV special, but I think he may have put it in "Wiseguy." Hey ArchMiro, Maybe you could ask Dean Dill on some sources for the bill switch. In his thread, he mentions that David Copperfield asked Dean Dill to teach him the bill switch. |

Hi,
I would also strongly suggest you look into the Ron Bauer Series "Paul Chosse's Bar Bill Stunt", #12. Here! Regards, Paul Green |

Thank you everyone for your helpful hints. While I used to love using a TT, I think I'm going to give the Bar Bill Stunt method a try. It looks like a winner and I think I can do it without the TT.
However, I still plan on researching every method. So thank you all for your suggestions! |

Mike Kozlowski has a excellent bill switch published by Magic, Inc. It looks very clean however it does use a TT.

If I do the billswitch in a strolling or restaurant situation I always use a thumbtip. It just gives you the extra security of showing everything as clean as possible at the end.
However... I did it once for a televisioncommercial whre it had to look just VERY good and I went for the no tip version. If you use Kevin King's handling only without a thumbtip it seems to be perfect for TV. Very fluent. (In the commercial I changed an old bill into a new euro-bill) Now I've been asked to do it again for a candid-camera type setting. I will use the thumb tip for the "victims", but I will try to convince the director to let me use the non-tip version just for the people at home. Thanks to David Blaine...

There's an interesting addition to the mismade bill effect in Cyber Sessions called Picasso's Bill by Marc DeSouza. It could be used to add an interesting storyline to the effect.

If you are interested in this effect, go to the "Food for Thought" section and look at the $ change thread...

ArchMiro -
I highly recommend the Bar Bill Stunt approach to the $100.00 thumb tip switch. The handling is extremely clean and you start and end clean if you're performing the Paul Chosse's #12 Bar Bill Stunt from the Ron Bauer Private Studies. This particular script provides three different handlings to the switch...all are well though out and also provides an entertaining, premised based approach to presenting this effect. Andy |

I've actually looked at it and purchased it. Very cool handling.
Thank you for the advice, everyone. |

I finally purchased Kevin King's tape yesterday. It was well worth the money. I have tried other versions. This method fits my style, quick and casual. Its like the James Bond of T.T. bill switching. In my own opinion of course.
