A little help please. I just received a new Copenetro made by Kline from Hank Lee's and I can't seem to get it to work right. The catches lock perfectly, the glasses fit snugly in and around the base, but when the half dollars are released- they fly quick- and just end up sitting outside the shot glass leaning against the inside of the large glass. Maybe there is too much power in the base? Perhaps I am too excited with a new effect and am missing something completely. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Like Pete said, and also... are you holding the thing tilted toward the ground?
...to all the coins I've dropped here

You can contact Hank Lee to replace it.

Have you tried a different outer glass? I replaced mine with a wine glass (cheapest I could find, didn't want good crystal shattering)
The curvature of the wine glass directed the coins exactly where they were supposed to go.

In the book Routined Manipulations.. He talkes about leaning it in the direction the coin will shoot.. so if the coin is on the right side lean to the left a bit... if the coin is in the back lean the unit forward....Try this ... I had the same problem ..and this worked.

Cardone is correct. This worked for me. Also, mine is about 20 years old now and I found that tupperware glasses fit perfect. With these there is no longer the danger of the glass getting broken.

Thank you all very much for the great advice. I tried tilting the base as suggested and it worked for one of the coins. I examined the two glass set up closely and they are not evenly spaced from each other at the shot glass rim and the wall of the large glass when on the base. At some points it is very narrow and others a nice wide space between the two glasses at the shot glass rim. I think a warped glass may be the culprit. I contaced Hank and they were happy to replace the item and my return shipping costs. Great Service.
On another note- thanks to your suggestions I am playing with the idea of using a frosted glass instead of covering the prop with a silk as suggested in the directions. Then- for the final coin, asking if the audience would like to see the coin appear and using the clear glass. Do most people cover the glass with a silk for the first three coins as suggested in the directions or is it standard to just show all four coins appearing without cover? Thanks again for all of the help! --Seth |

Hello Seth ..I went though 6 coppentros before I found one that the pins would stay. They were being made wrong and I sent back 6 different ones .. The plate on the bottom was not aligned properly... I think the new ones are ok..

Seth: Its a matter of personal preference. I've done it both ways and tried to judge audience response. Couldn't ever tell much of a difference.
good luck Craig |
