Often when I read articles and intros about Annemann they say that he was tormented or lived an unfortuate life. Is there a bio of him or can someone pass on some details of why it was so bad that it is often mentioned.

He left an incomparable body of work, a time machine powered by a typewriter. He was a genius. How sad his alcoholism made it difficult for him to survive his gifts much less feel enough return.
