I'm looking for ungimmicked decks of ESP cards. Where are they?! Not on HP or the center tear!? Where?!!!

I've bought these before (see link below) to try them out, but they are not great quality cards.

You'll get some use out of them though.

I prefer the original Rhine cards but I'm not sure where you can find them anymore.

Magic Tricks sell them in the UK but postage may be expensive.

Those look kind of cheap and flimsy. Im looking for ESP cards on a good quality stock! But cant seem to find any anywhere. I will probably want marked AND unmarked. Help?

Well, I don't know if they fit your needs mate but magicbox.uk.com do a set called Beyond ESP2 which is on premium quality stock form the US Playing Card Company. They have solid black backs so they cant be marked...or could they be??? They are the most innocent looking ones I have seen so far.

I agree with kennedy, they look innocent, I pass them out and let people look at them as long as they want and they will never figure them out

I second Kennedy's suggestion for 'Beyond ESP 2' cards. They have very plain black backs and I know youre asking for ungimmicked cards but these are marked but there is no rule that says that you have to use them as marked cards. It would be perfectly possible for you to do effects with these where you don't need marked cards and hey, you've killed two birds with one stone because you can use them as marked cards as well. It also comes with great routines from magicians including Banachek.

You can get them here

http://www.magicbox.uk.com/exec.php/prod....../11466//

I hope this helps,

Oh and there's a DVD too called Submodalities which features two weird geordie lads...and loads more routines. Amazingly produced I think .

This has been discussed recently on the Café - 'Corinda and esp cards'
http://www.themagiccafe.com/forums/viewt......forum=15

I had suggested printing your own cards on a blank set of bicycles:
" . . . Doug Dyment has some ESP symbols free for downloading at:
http://www.deceptionary.com/

Goto "Useful Information".
Click on "a variety of Zener (ESP) symbol graphics" at the foot of the list."

Enigmaticmagic:

You can buy the same type of Zener ESP Cards that Dr. Karl E. Zener used in his ESP experiments at Daytona Magic:

http://www.daytonamagic.com

These cards are ungimmicked and come in a 25 card pack with the 5 different standard ESP symbols. They have the blue backs with white stars and will cost you about $6.00 a pack. I believe that these are the same as the original Rhine cards.

I have about 10 decks of these at home. If interested I would sell you a deck or 2.

With printing costs as low as they aer now, it seems to me that it would be worth while to just have them printed up with your own built in gaff design or marks or promo material on the back.

That would make them in to a good publicity give away!

The rhine cards came in a nifty little box with Buildings from Duke University on them.

Just so you know you will have to go down the page a few products.

Beyond ESP 2 is also sold on Hocus Pocus. Do a search under ESP. They are on the first page.

The Rhine Institute for several years had ceased manufacturing true ESP testing cards, due mainly to lack of interest enough to raise a minimum order. (They actually purchased them in a minimum of ten thousand decks from a custom card printer in Britain whose name escapes me, but who ironically enough prints a lot of gimmicked cards as well.) However, I've recently gotten in touch with them, and while they do not advertise their testing supplies online, they are available for order. Below is an excerpt from an email I received from Dr. Sally Rhine Feather, the Director of Development at the Rhine Research Center (no longer the Rhine Institute, and no longer associated with Duke University).

Quote:
Yes, we do have the standard ESP (Zener) test cards for sale here, that come along with Guidelines for Testing and a Record Sheet for $25 including postage within the US. We accept credit card info or you can send a check to the RRC.

That said, I've not yet found a spectator who picks up on the subtle markings of the six-dollar Royal deck (I recommend Daytona Magic, personally), and don't know if I'm quite willing to give up my Statistics routine which depends on the Royal markings. (And the decks are not switchable, since the official Rhine cards at least used to lack a white border, though I haven't seen the new set. I'll eventually buckle and buy one, though! I know me . . . )

The RRC can be contacted at:
