Actually I was just wondering if I couldn't just get one of you guys
( "guys" this is an army neutral term; i.e. men and women) to just put me under and make me a Hypnotist ..... . But Really, I have read several strings on who's got the best book or DVD, and these things are very interesting, but I am more interested in taking a class, and the local vo-tech places don't seem to be offering any at present. Is it possible that there is a Reputable seminar that travels to different parts of the country giving Seminars? I live in North Carolina about halfway between Ft.Bragg(Fayetteville) and Raleigh. All joking aside, I really am interested. Thanks Steve |

In a thread I started a while back, someone recommended (http://www.sleepwalkers.us/)
as a place to look for lessons etc. |

Thanks Jim
I'll have to check out sleepwalkers a little more in depth. HypnotizeAmerica If the course is as comprehensive as the ad, it looks interesting. Thanks Steve |

Forget the courses. find a hypnotist who is sucessfull, and aprentice to him
can't beat it as a method.

That sounds great Danny, the problem being, my location. Hypnotists aren't real plentiful in these here parts .
I am in a rather rural setting, that's why I was hoping for a traveling seminar to attend. Not to learn all there is to know in a weekend, but to get my feet wet, so to speak, with someone who is a professional. It sounded like a good place to start. However, if you know of a good Hypnotist in my area(which there may actually be a couple, I wouldn't know, I don't even know where to start looking.) let me know, and I'll be happy to inquire of them. Your way actually does sound like the best way to go. Thanks Steve |

The Ronning Home Study Course is a great way to go. It is like being at the live training since it is a complete taping of one of the live trainings. Check it out at stagehypnosiscenter.com

Hey there, I am new to the forums although I am a Hypnotist and a Certified Hypnotherapist in training. I am currently taking a distance learning course through the Hypnosis Motivation Institute. Their course runs about 4k for the full thing, although all you need is the first volume instead of the full 9.
As for books to start with I would reccomend Bandler and Grinder's Trance-Formations, and since you are a military guy like me you can get it through your library as I have been doing through Inter Library Loans if need be. Frogs into Princes and then Reframing would be useful too and they are by the same authors. Although in the end if you are looking towards the Stage Hypnosis gig then you a must have, and really all you need to get a great start, is the late Ormund McGill's, the Dean of Hypnosis, Encyclopedia of Stage Hypnosis.
