I have Aldo Columbini's "Knotty Knot", which has a one handed Slip-Knot description that you do "hidden" behind the hand.
I've sort-of got the hang of it, but was looking for other sources so that I could compare and contrast methods, as I'm not sure I'm dong it correctly. Any help and assistance greatly appreciated. Thanks - Bruce |

Aldo's method taught me to do it with either hand. If you look at "Self-working Rope Magic" by Karl Fulves you can see his version on page 17. Al Angello

Doing tricks involving the slip knot ( I use Daryls method from his expert rope magic dvd ) the spectators sometimes notice that something is wrong with that knot, that it is not a real knot. I suppose this is because the slipknot leaves kind of a bend in the rope, is not in the middle but tends to stick out a bit to one side. How do you deal with this.

Daryl does a "quick slip knot" and a "slow motion slip knot" but he does not do a "one handed slip knot". The one handed knot, done with either hand is a Aldo Colombini knot. When the slip knot is done right there is no bend, and Daryl covers that on his expert rope magic DVD. Al Angello BrucUK To the best of my knowledge the one handed slip knot is only done by Aldo, and now I do it too.

Al you are wright about Daryl doing a two hands slipknot and he also gives a tip to take out the bend but still the knot will stick out to one side and you have to watch the angle you present the knot to the spectator or keeping the knot moving also works. I probably need some more practise on this

You see how smart a guy can be when he has his whole rope library in front of him? Do they eat a lot of waffels in Belgium?

Thanks for replies and insights. I'm amazed that this knot is so "rare" in coverage.
