I was saddened to get my newsletter from Eric Paul today and see that he is promoting Chris Johnson's program for doing school assemblies.
Eric wrote: P.S. I am totally enjoying Cris Johnson’s new course on school show performing! I am not kidding when I say he has written the best I’ve seen on the subject! I wrote Eric back,: Dear Eric, you should check out Jim Snack's materials. I bought Chris Johnson's stuff, and as an experienced school assembly professional (over 250 schools every year), I laughed. I sent his stuff back to him with over two pages of ideas to help him become more successful. I didn't get a thank you. I saw videos of his shows and they were sad. Mostly Jeff McBride stuff from Jeff's videos, certainly not curriculum based or educational. Or very well performed. They had nothing to do with his topic either. Performers using Chris Johnson's ideas just may ruin the market for those of us that do real curriculum-based educational assemblies. Chris seems to be another Dave Dee student out to make a buck off anyone he can. Quality be tossed aside.

I just ordered it a couple days ago. I'll let you know what I think when I get it.

I too thought it poorly done. The programs all had the same teachers guide (just the buzz words were changed) As a fulltime educational presenter for over 20+ yrs I found it pitiful!
The show were not very educationally significant. It needs MAJOR work! The show fees I found laughable too! I wouldn't crank the car for those fees. Sorry but that's the truth. School administrators would really complain if this show came to their school. Maybe it works for him but it would NEVER work for me. I have 8 weeks of teachers guides just for one show I present! Sorry but I NEVER would recommend it! All The Best! John Cooper |

Can someone elaborate a little on " Teachers Guides" for a school show? I would love to see a sample one if anyone has one they could send me via email?

I'll be glad to tell you what a "Teachers Guide" contains...teachers guides provide the teaching staff with discussion points from the program, exercises and idea starters for the classroom. Well planned guides take the learning points from the program into the classroom.
I've even taken my reading show as far a bookmark that highlights a specially designed web portal I built for students & faculty use. The portal features how tos on string figures, juggling, 100 of the best children's books, book reviews, storytelling and much more! Teachers and curriculum coordinators always compliment the educational content of my presentations. All The Best! John Cooper |

To be honest, I've never gotten anything of value from Eric Paul, I unsubscribed from those emails. I was also considering the Chris Johnson course, but after these reviews, I'm glad I'm not getting it! I have Jim Snack's courses and have enjoyed those. Any other ideas for GOOD school show material?

WOW, while I have friends that do not particularily like magic marketers, none have ever come close to saying anything like the above about Eric's material, and in particular his FREE e-mail newsletter. I enjoy Eric's material (free and otherwise, so I am biased) but I have only heard postive comments about his newsletters from others.
