I saw Monday Night Magic last night and I have to recommend that place for everyone. That show was great.
To begin the show, Jamy Ian Swiss did a couple nice effects and then Danny Alan came out and did a very good bird production which was really cool. Then Pete Kougasian came out and man is he funny, I couldn't stop laughing. Then my highlight of the show Rocco was there, he was great doing a nice little d'lite routine and then crushing things in his hands and making different things appear, it was great. I have a question, during Roccos act, he was throwing down cards and then re-appearing more in his hand, how does he do that? I saw Jeff McBride do it on TV also. He finished the show with a water routine where he kept on filling up the 2 glasses over and over amazing! Also during the intermission, the close up performer stole a guys watch. And the trick I want to learn, how he did was, he gave some lady 10 cards and told her to sit on them. He then magically transfered 3 cards into the pack she was sitting on and then she counted the cards and there were 13! Thanks for answering my questions in advance! |

Where is this place? I'm assuming it's in New York, since that's where you say you're from? Could you actually name the place where you saw this show? I would love to stop by the next time I'm in the city.
Mallusionist definition of the Simple force: The cards are fanned and if the spectator tries to take the wrong card, the magician holds onto the deck really, really tight.

Go to mondaynightmagic.com. It has all its info there. It's in a very little theatre, it holds like 100 people and it's uncomfortable but the magic made up for it. It's a little hard to find the theatre, name is on the tickets. You go but there are no signs or anything, so you gotta look for a sign that says, My own lady, which, I guess, is the big show that runs there.

That trick that you called, about 10 cards and then she counted it 13, is also on the Easy to Master Card Miracle, number 1, it's called, Las Vegas Leaper.

Monday Night Magic has been going on in New York for a few years now. I've never been able to attend, but I get a mailing that tells me who is performing. It sounds like a great show.
They perform at the Sullivan Street Theater. This is the theater where Fantastiks performed for years and years. It is a small theater, but for magic it is a very good venue. Check out http://www.mondaynightmagic.com to get on the mailing list and to get more info. Thanks, Richard Green

Monday Night Magic has moved. Their web site gives the info.
Card Manipulation is the generic name of producing cards from, usually, the back palm. Cards Across is the generic name of the routine with the ladies sitting on the cards
You have to give it away to keep it.
