Usually any time someone asks you for money for information you are about to be scammed.

Why on earth would anybody pay an up-front fee instead of a percentage of moneys received for an agent or an employment service?

The only cruise line that operates in Malaysia is Srar Cruises!
I have worked for them and I'm looking forward to work for them again. It is the biggest cruise line in Asia and 3rd biggest in the world (they own the NCL, NCL America, Orient Lines and Star Ferries). You can visit their website at http://www.starcruises.com . I have worked for them as featured/guest entertainer onboard MV/Star Pisces. They are top professionals and they treat entertainers with due respect. I can only say the nicest things about them. When I read the article about the scams I noticed that in several of those scams mentioned the person sending those scam emails illegitimately uses the name "Starcruise", and "Virgo Cruises" (probbably after the name of M/V Superstar Virgo - the biggest ship in the Star Cruises fleet). I can only confirm that these emails are scams. When it comes to entertainers, Star Cruises cooperate with just a few entertainment agencies. They also cooperate with many legitimate cruise emplyment agencies worldwide when it comes to non entertainment jobs. The general rule for entertainers on Star Cruises' ships is that they get employed only by the reccomendation of an agent or a fellow entertainer who previously performed onboard one of their vessels, period. Do not believe those scam emails, especially due to the fact that the crooks sending them ask for certain ammounts od money!!! No employee nor any independant contractors of Star Cruises was asked to pay any fee to an agent in order to get a job. I will inform the Director of the Entertainment Department about this scam and about the illegitimate use of the Company's name (although I'm sure that they already know about this and that the Company is doing their best to stop this illegal practice). |
