Play it straight is a great version of Triumph effect, very nice to be performed after Triumph by D Vernon (higher in the suprise !)
I'm surprised that nobody mentioned Wait until dark. It kills ! That's a great version of a S Aronson effect Shufflebored. My favourite trick learnt in 2006 ! Degrees of freedom comes next. :bikes: |

No one likes timely departure except me? Wow, And I thouhgt that was going to be a sure winner.
Another really good (and amazingly overlooked!!) routine he has is boogie woogie aces in smoke and mirrors. It's a really direct jazz aces with a nice kicker ending. |

I'll second the Bullet Train sequence, but I honestly liked it so much that I haven't read any further in the book yet!

Power of Poker, Last Man Standing, Dawn Patrol....practically everyting in Dear Mr. Fantasy. Honestly, I didn't do much if his work except Twisted Sisters until I got his new book....now I love all of it. Great stuff. The Last Man Standing routine with the Jennings/Goodwin display, is just perfect. No table, convincing display, well sequenced and all around clean. The only version of Triumph I do now...

I love "The Bullet Train" routine & "Last Man Standing" from DMF and "Play it Staight(Triumph)", "Discrepancy City Prediction", "'Twixt The Devil" & "A Little T, T, & A" from Impossibilia. I've yet to find a copy of "Smoke & Mirrors". Is it OOP?

Return of the Magnificent Seven Timely Departure Discrepancy City Prediction Heart of the City These top the list but he's got a whole bunch of brilliant routines in print. There aren't many authors you can count on for so many real workers. |

Dead Reckoning, Wait Until Dark, Final Verdict -- all from "Dear Mr. Fantasy." I picked up that book first and am now going through "Smoke and Mirrors," which I know many people like better, but so far I haven't found a routine in it that I like as much as the above three. I also like "Last Man Standing."
