I posted on this thread all the way in 2006 - time goes much too quick. A stroll down memory lane. Thanks Slim!

I wish we had more engaging posts like this these days.

Now it's just fluff. Not much of any real substance with the obvious exception of some really brilliant, experienced guys. I can't say much though as I don't contribute a whole pile to the forum. Before I used to come here to learn, share ideas and to be challenged, now I browse these same forums just for some light reading when in need to pass the time. A place to sell products with the same inane topics. Just my view though. I could be the one that's changed but I do still feel the same way about the staff that put in a Trojan about of work here - in awe of them really!
On another note I still keep in touch with Jim, an absolute gentleman. A fountain of knowledge and a joy to chat with. |

I agree Pete. Everyone loves everything. There are a few exceptions, but no one seems to tastes these days. It’s the equivalent to saying every song ever made is good.
You are not alone. I feel many others are in the same boat. The Café is still a great archive and site with a good supporting staff. I just wish we had better conversations like we use to. I too keep up with Jim, and yes he is quite a great guy. Very giving and entertaining even beyond our art.

I didn't read the whole thread, so maybe I'm missing something but I read the first 11 pages and have no idea what is going on haha.
