About a year ago, an ebook went on sale entitled "The Cheetahs Handbook Volume 1". The very title implied there'd be another volume and finally, here it is!

"Another bite of the Cherry" contains 68 pages of excellent magic from ten magicians - The Cheetahs - who consist of: Jamie Badman, John Bodine, Luke Dancy, Andi Gladwin, Rob James, Kostya Kimlat, Colin Miller, Robert Moreland, Jack Parker and Tyler Wilson.

The ebook, like Volume 1, will be a limited edition. It will be sold until the end of may or until 250 copies are sold - whichever happens first. As you may know, the first volume sold out very quickly and is no longer available so if you're interested, take a look and grab a copy while you can!

You can see a full list of contents on the sites along with a demo video of one of Jack Parker's effects from the book, "Meester Tweester".

It is available on just two sites - unfortunately I can't tell you where those sites are because it's apparently in contravention of Café rules. I can, however, tell you the product is now on the market!

Perhaps someone else might suggest places this ebook can be purchased if anyone asks ? I think that would be ok according to the rules ?

Regards,

Jamie.

Well, though my earlier posts on this got deleted, I have now had more time to look through this, Here is my review.

Overall, it is a great book. 68 Pages, lots of big, clear photographs to make sure you can completely understand each routine.

Under Control (Luke Dancy) - A fantastic control that you'll learn in just a few hours. Well, I liked the concept of this when I first read it, and after playing with it for several hours, I like it. Its kind of bold, similar to Ashers Losing control, not in mechanics, method or such, but the bold and casualness, and that is what I like about it.

Sweet Cherry Living (Kostya Kimlat) - Fuse two cherries together. Weird, original and fun! Not sure how new this is, though, I like it, it is very simple, very clever, and a great little routine that will be good for impromptu routines, for all you grocery store magicians, this is for you Smile

BVA (John Bodine) - A short walkaround routine utilising the Asher Twist.
I overlooked this after reading the effect, I thought to myself, I like the Asher twist routine, why change it, and it isn't too hard to use it and still finish using the Asher twist routine. You could also apply this to the Mcclintock twist

21 Forever (Jamie Badman) - One for the Blackjack players. Includes a description of Jamie's renowned Underground Change.
One of my favourites from the book. Very magical and convincing, if you ever wanted to look like a pro gambler, this routine is great, if you ever wanted to win at cards, this would work amongst friends, and next card night I get, ill try this. I like all effects using Jamies Underground change and Curry Turnover, so this is a real winner.

Meester Tweester (Jack Parker) - A fantastic Twisting the Aces routine that takes a number of interesting turns.
This was the effect shown on the demo, and I thought it looked great. Jack is very creative, and I like all his work that I have and have seen so far. A great little trick, another of my faves from the book

Cherry Bomb (Tyler Wilson) - A guaranteed fooler using just one card.
Well, Tyler is crazy, and this is crazy, takes a couple of seconds to prepare, and is a funny routine, that will be a lot of fun to perform, as with the rest of his work. Got to love those side burns, really you do, hes a big guy, no messing Smile, and Andi Gladwin has some nice touches on the routine

Just One Rubber & Get Your Knot Off (John Bodine) - You accidentally snap a rubber band, but restore it in a novel and fooling way.
Well, rubber band magic has hit my magic quite hard recently, great for impromptu situations, and I like this, got a little confused at start, but I think I was too eager to learn it, it made sense second time around, and another rubber band trick to add to the reportoire. I can soon have a whole act devoted to rubber band magic

Three Card Location Too (Colin Miller) - An alternative handling and presentation to Steve Ehler's 3 Card Location.
Without going into this to risk exposure, unfortuantely, as much as I would love to perform this, this is probably the one trick I will never be able to perform from the book, though, I'm sure I can work out a way eventually

Full Mental Racket (Andi Gladwin) - A maths test that will fool and entertain!
Andis take on Syd Segals effect from his book with JC Wagner Full Metal Jacket (Which is a great book) Simple, cleaner imo than Syds, and a lot easier to perform, I like what Andi has done here, and I hope to remember to perform this effect, as in Full Metal Jacket, it was too hard to remember the exact set up

Wings (Kostya Kimlat) - Impromptu magic at it's best. Chicken lovers will love this!
Errrrr.......This is one of the zaniest, most craziest routines ever created. However, if you don't like getting your hands messy, stay clear of this trick, but its another great routine using foos. Just a shame Kostya didn't put any of his amazing card magic into this

Two Minds Without a Single Thought (Jack Parker) - I'm not sure what's more entertaining. The trick or the write-up. You'll enjoy this.
Jack has proven to me already that he is a great thinker, and this is a clever routine and an entertaining read, simple set up as well, so its near on impromptu, which is great

E.J. Sandwich (Rob James) - Rob has used this trick to fool some of the best minds in magic. Now it's your turn.
If you have seen Rob perform, or have Cheetahs handbook 1, or the session booklet, well, not much more to say but he is a genious, and I wish he would release a little more of his gems, I know he has them and I cant wait for them to come out, PLEASE ROB!!! Smile

Cheetah's Cellphones (Luke Dancy) - Turn your cellphone into a magical utility device.
Some graet ideas on here, and I can put a lot of use into some of these for some great comedy and magic value

Ascanio Spread Finesse (Robert Moreland) - The hit of the 2005 TSD convention in print for the first time.
I had a similar idea a couple years back when I first learned the Ascanio spread, and still, sorry Robert, I have tweaked it just a little but, but none the less, this is still great

Nightmare (Robert Moreland) - The best Cannibal Cards handling. Ever.
Well, the description is right, imo, the best routine in the book, and 1 I will use, might take a little time to learn all the patter, but I was chuckling to myself as I was reading through it, very entertaining and a good kicker ending

Whiplash (Andi Gladwin) - An original plot, detailing two new moves.
What a great effect, very magical and startling to the spectators and again, Andi keeps up his great reputation as a creator

Well, that's is, they say nothing is perfect, and well, neither is this, but its darn close to it!!! 9/10

Chris,

That's a fantastic review - thanks for being so detailed and honest. We're all really proud of this year's edition and I'm really pleased that you like it.

Please let us know how you get on performing some of the effects too.

I have to say, recently whenever I see these names associated with something it is always excellent. Recently the Session Convention (which had either performing or attending 7 of the 10 names that make up the contributors to the Cheetahs Handbook - not bad considering the international nature of the group) and now this. The Session pushed the envelope forward for the British convention and this ebook from first impressions will help define the standards for magic published via electronic mediums.

Only bought this yesterday but first impressions: it looks GREAT. If you've seen Andi Gladwin's website or the Underground Collective website you will know that these guys really have an eye for what looks good. Secondly - the magic is superb. I read through Rob Moreland's cannibals routine "Nightmare" - this genuinely is the best handling I have seen. The finesse on the Ascanio and the ending along with a funny presentation make this the definitive version of this plot. It isn't particularly difficult either.

I am a big fan of Tyler Wilson - this guy is set to be big - bigger than Stonehenge! His item here is clever and uses a topological principle with cards that I wasn't aware of. It's a funny presentation too.

Chris's review above covers all the other stuff, and I am sure I am going to have a lot of fun reading through and trying out the tricks.

This is the best value, best produced ebook since - well, Cheetahs Handbook 1!

Buy it today, you won't be disappointed.

Thanks for the very generous review Christopher and Aaron. I was very flattered when Andi asked me for a contribution to this years issue and am glad that it found its audience. The Cannibal Card trick (as performed on ETMCM) was one of the first tricks performed the night that I met Mr. Gladwin and Rob James for the first time. I thought that the handling left something to be desired so I messed around with it and worked out what lies before you. It remains a staple in my professional and social performances. With that said, “Nightmares” inclusion in the “Cheetah’s Handbook 2” has sort of a poetic feel for me and I am thrilled that Andi took on the project. I also would like to give a shout out to the rest of the Cheetah’s, thanks for having me aboard, you guys are the best.

I would say more but all this talk of cannibals has given me a case of the munchies. So until the next time….

Hey Guys,
I'm glad everyone is digging the book. We're extremely pleased bring Robbie into the team, he exemplifies the Cheetahs.

Even though his Nightmare routine is easily the star of the book, there are some definite sleepers in there. Such as:

- John Bodine's "Just One Rubber & Get Your Knot Off" is absolutely killer. When I first read John's contribution I was very excited. I don't do a lot of rubber band stuff, so it has to be reeeeally good if it's going into my repetoire. Needless to say, this one went straight into my repetoire.

- Rob James' "EJ Sandwich" was one I had my eye on right away. I've been frying everyone with this lately, especially knowledgeable magicians. Thanks Rob!

- Andi Gladwin's "Whiplash" contains one of the cooler moves I've seen recently. Don't pass it by!

Let's hear it from you guys, which ones passed by under the radar the first time through the book, but is now getting a lot of attention from you?

I just bought the ebook, and have finished running through the whole think with cards in hand and the such, I don't have any cherries though! ha!

The effects in this book are truely stunning.

I don't really know what else to say, for an accomplished magician you'll pick up everything in here without any trouble at all, a good couple hundred hours of practice and bang your done you can move onto the third and fourth effects in the book Smile only kidding, but genuinely these effects are worth putting in the practice for and getting to a real proffesional level and it shouldnt take too long either.

IM a mentalist who is a hobbyist cardman as I work at the magic shop and meetings with other magicians and stuff and they hate the fact a mentalist can do sleights, this stuff will fry them.

If you buy this book you will be so pleased with yourself you might just go out an buy a popsicle.

For 12 quid there is nothing better in the whole world of magic.

68 PAGES!!!!

Jon Hackett

p.s. a little help would be appreciated in fully achieveing the potential of 'nightmare' what a killer routine! But I'm struggling with making Hartmans Mu***ple C***t Ch***e look natural, anyone got any tips?

I also have bought the Ebook.

Under Control is a great card control. I picked it up after about a half hour of playing with it

Sweet Cherry is good for impromptu situtations.

BVA didn't strike me much. This IS a good twisting effect, but I like the gimmicked versions with more climaxes.

21 Forever is absolutely great. John Bannon's Power of Poker in his Dear Mister Fantasy is almost exactely alike, except this is Blackjack instead of poker. The choices are completley free.

Meester Tweester is a good routine that I will use requently. I currenly perform Reset as often as possible, but I am going to try this one out. I do like the surprise ending.

Cherry Bomb is more of a gag then a magic trick, per say.

The rubberband trick is good when you have just one rubberband.

Three Card Location Too is a good example of good routining. Each phase builds upon the other and the climax is very good.

Full Metal Racket has got to be my favorite. I just love this effect. Very clean, and very simple to follow.

Wings is good for dinner magic, I think I may use it.

Two Minds Without a Single Thought is another one that caught my eye. The applications here are very user freiendly. I've already applied this principle to another routine that I do.

EJ Sandwitch is like the familiar Biddle Trick that everyone knows. If I know a group has seen me do the Biddle Trick, I would probably use this one. This is probably the second best in the book.

Cellphones are has some good ideas. I don't own a cell phone, but for those of you who do, you're in for a treat.

Ascanio Spread Finesse is a good move. I havnt looked over it enough yet.

Nightmare is the BEST version of Cannibal Cards. It's also very funny. I thought that I would never do Cannibal Cards, but the Cheetah's have changed my mind.

Whiplash is a good, in-there-hands, effect. It is similar to somethign like Paul Harris' Bizzare Vanish, but I feel that this one is stronger. I really like this one also.

A few effects are noteworthy. I don't have the Original Cheetah's Handbook, but after seeing this ebook, I would be inclined to buy it.

Ooohhhh..... I really can't wait to read all the effects in this ebook, I enjoyed Cheetah's Handbook vol. 1 and I am sure this second volume is more enjoyable than the previous ebook.

Hopefully my payment will arrive early to the seller. Smile

Unfortunately, I was one of the unlucky few who missed out on the cheetah's handbook volume 1. I wasn't going to let that happen with volume 2 and I'm glad I made that purchase!

Hats off to you guys for some splendid material! In particular, I liked the rubberband routine. I love rubberband magic, and this one will fit in with what I currently already do. EJ sandwich I've been playing around with, and this one looks great when done smoothly. Full Mental Racket is also fun to do. And like everyone else has been saying, Nightmare is definitely one of the funnier presentations of cannibal cards I've seen, and the kicker ending is just the icing on the cake. All in all, everything within this book is great. I highly recommend it! Smile

I'm also among the unlucky ones that missed out on volume 1. What a drag!! I just got volume 2 yesterday and couldn't be happier. Christopher's review does a great job of outlining what's in store for those of you clever enough to seek out and purchase this ebook. Terrific value for $20. Don't miss out!

It was fun being part of the Cheetah Handbook last year but I must admit the book this year seems to have not only more material but even better material as well. It's fun working with such a diverse group and I hope you guys enjoy the stuff as much as we do. Thanks for the support!

Hey Luke,

Thanks for picking up what I started last year with the cell phone stuff, nice thinking. I can only echo what the other "cheetahs" have been saying, it's a great group of guys, lots of creative magic, and loads of fun.

Anyone else care to review their favorite effects from Cheetahs 1 or Cheetahs 2?

I love this ebook. One of the best I own. Meester Tweester might just well be my new favorite packet trick. So much magic. Really great stuff.

The effects are great and the price is very fair. Highly recommended.
