Hey all just a heads up, on up and coming technology....
Popular science has featured a new invention that allows the holder to litterally beam sound... read the article at This was described in another article I read as well.... the author said when the speaker was pointed at him, it sounded like birds chirping and that the sound seemed to originate from his head, (not the speaker 70 feet away) and as icing on the cake, the guy 2 feet away couldn't hear a thing. So, it may be a year or so before this is obtainable technology but I'm curious to hear a little brainstorming and thoughts on potential uses within this community. let me know what you think...

You could record the volunteer's voice and then using a sophisticated computer audio program, create an audio file saying whatever you wished but in a semblance of the volunteer's own voice.
You then project the recording to the volunteer, and suddenly, he starts hearing voices in his head... but it is in his own "inner voice." Shades of Frank Herbert... :firedevil:

"Kent... Kent this is god speaking..."
(Real Genius 1980somthing) Seriously, I think there are some truly amazing feats that could come from this.... projection of a thought of card to another spectator in the audience that could then make the revelation... It would be so creepy they would have to blame it on a stooge... It could be played out as the performer not reading minds but acting more as a bridge from the mind of one spectator to another... I think this could be really creepy.... The link I posted didnt seem to take properly so I wont bother grammer hosts with removing it again but if anyone would like to see it go to the popular sci. home page and search for "audio + Woody Norris" Mr Norris is the creator of this devious engineering feat. enjoy!
