I've been working on the effect winged copper/silver from bobo's only using david roth's handling of winged silver. I'm trying to incorporate a [ so when I finish I can show both of my hands completely clean. I have a rough handling down but was wondering if there are any resources that might have a handling like this. I've looked through the [ chapter in bobo's and I'm trying to piece bits and pieces of other routines together instead of using the same sleights each time. So any information about this effect would be appreciated. Thanks in advance guys.

Not sure what you are getting at here. You want to apply Roth's Shuttle pass in the routine?

I already am applying roth's shuttle pass to the routine. I'm just looking for other moves instead of repeating the same shuttle pass and looking for places to either see a performance of this effect or read somebody elses ideas on doing the routine with a shell. Thanks though Jonathan. Definitely would like to hear any advice you have.

If you use the [ go with that roth routine. for winged silver go with winged silver on edge from expert coin magic or high flying winged silver from coin magic. for a copper silver version you r using the rong gaff...use edge grip...

If you are serious about using EG, check out the EG2EG switch and other utility sleights in Kainoa Harbottle's Coins on Edge, Cointopia and his latest offerings.

Brian,
Instead of doing a shuttle pass, you can do the move where you apparently pick up the coin from the left hand. The left hand actually retains the coin, however, as the right hand moves away while pushing the other coin (which was palmed) to the fingertips. Immediately after the apparent pickup, the left hand turns toward the body to hide the coin there, which remains in left fingerpalm. You could also do a changeover, such as the Chanin Master Move. Is this sort of thing what you're aiming at? Jerry |

Phread,
I'm not opposed to using another type of gaff. The [ is just what came to mind first. Also, I will check out the edge grip materials you and Jonathan mentioned. jerdunn, I understand the move you're explaining but in the effect I will have a silver and copper in my left. I must do a shuttle pass/bobo switch type of effect to show the silver in my right but retain the copper in my left. Thanks though. I'll keep trying as many new things as I can. I just like the effect but I believe the one ahead principle is obvious and me being able to show my hands clean would leave the spectator without a possible explanation. |

Hmm....someone may have done the hard work for you already. I'm surprised no one has mentioned Roger Klause's "Soleil Et Lune" from Apocalypse (and I think he does it on the COINvention DVD). If you want amazingly clean and aren't afraid to be gaffy, it's probably the best way to go. Edge grip techniques can add to it (I only know this because I've been playing with the gaff lately), but the routine looks moveless and you end very clean (looking).
But why not a C/S coin, if you're so Rothian? You might not be able to show the hands "completely" clean, but a) completely clean is in the mind of the beholder and b) they can then look at both coins at the end. It comes down to if you want them to see your hands or if you want them to see the coins. In a TV world the former is good; in the real world the latter is better. Speaking of EG techniques and copper/silver land, there are a number of transpo routines in the new stuff I'm coming out with (just follow the link below), including a series of transpositions that build from slow and dramatic to, well, magically instant. |

Thanks kainoa, I have been working on Roger Klause's routine but I will continue to play with some of the edge grip ideas. But I'm definitely interested in some of your edge grip material and I'll be getting in contact with you about those manuscripts.

Can I ask what might be a silly question re the EG? Does this technique use the thumb, middle finger or palm? Or am I thinking of the wrong thing altogether? Pardon my ignorance...
