It grosses people out when I lick the nail before, because someone had just been holding it, I can't imagine how much they gross out to lick it after. If it works for you that is great. Tradition or no tradition I think I'll continue to lick it before.

After licking nail post-nasal insertion, crowd reaction, then: "What? You people have something against cleanliness??"

LOL I'm enjoying what I've started here Smile

I actually do both, a lick before as well as after. The only difference is, after I take the nail out I REALLY milk the lick.

A huge, wet, vomit-creating SUCK is more like it.

Okay, so maybe I don't do it THAT bad...but it's bad enough! LOL Smile

I noticed that I too will sometimes get a DROP of blood, no more than that. I certainly have nothing even close to a nosebleed at ALL. Is the stunt still safe? Also, I blockhead with my right nostril and bleed a tiny bit, but when I do it with my left, there is no blood. Is this a problem? I think not.

No the stunt is not safe.

no stunt is truly safe.

if you bleed at all when you do it, stop, and don't do it again.

just lookin' out for folks,
Brett.

I've bled quite a few times on stage, had no problems with going back to it. One time I had a very young girl in the front row say "Mister! Your ear is bleeding!!", I said "Yes dear, thanks.." and went on with the act. Once again "but mister, your EAR is bleeding!", so I said "I know! It's just stage blood... see? it's on the stage.. and.. it's blood!"

No stunt is safe, Brett is correct, but then again life isn't safe, just crossing a street can be a stunt in iteslf.

By the way, I was referring to my lifting act, not the blockhead act. If you bleed from your nose while attempting blockhead, stop immediately and reconsider the possibility that you may be a complete moron.

And if you bleed from your *ear* while doing the blockhead stop immediately and reconsider the possibility that you could be an anatomical wonder.

I used to get awful bloody noses every winter. Last fall I took Todd's course and learned to blockhead. This winter I had NO nosebleeds at all! The blockhead cured me somehow maybe. Or maybe it was all that vasiline I lubricated the q-tips with?

About that, I don't like the q-tip. I played around with other objects and I must say the q-tip is the most sneeze-inflicting object I've used.

Hi,

I've read a lot about using cue tips for doing blockhead.

I'm assuming you all mean the tips for snooker or pool cues, but not having any experience playing snooker or pool I've never really used one before (for playing snooker or stuffing in my face).

What are the dimensions of the tips you guys are using?

Why do you use them? Are they easier for beginning an therefore recommended for beginners?

I'm not a blockhead beginner myself. I learnt with a teaspoon of all things (being British I have an endless supply of teaspoons) and have performed it for a while, but it is interesting to learn the reasons why people use certain things. Especially when there are many people using the same stuff.

What other things have people used for performing human blockhead?

Off the top of my head I've seen people using drills, as well as the usual nails.

Cheers,

Ros

A Q-Tip, in America, is a cotton swab...a little bit of cotton, wrapped around the end of a thin stick or rolled-up paper "stick".

Oh I see!!!

Thanks for the info Harley. I'd had visions of people training with snooker cues!

Now I'm with you it all makes sense. Q-tips are cotton buds.

Listen to that penny drop Smile

Thanks again,

Ros
