Hey guys, any of us who work actually use John Kennedy's Thought Transmitter? I've heard that the pendragons use this in their stage show.

I had it. I used it in a couple of shows and I was pleased with it. In a show it failed on me. That was all I needed to chuck it out the window. I cant have stuff failing while I am on stage. I would just stick with a CT etc etc.

The other problem I have with it is the design. If you are working close up and people want to look at the wallet it has a bit of a bulge. Obviously on stage that is less of a problem.

That is my 2 cents.

See, I never really found ths item overly practical. Seems like a lot of prop for an effect that can be done propless...

Why buy a prop when a paper and a pen will do the same thing?

I do not have it, but I recommend the Stealth Assassin wallet.

For a peek, it is generally best to have several methods at your disposal. With the Assassin, you have the stealth peek, SUC, loads and switches, and also a case for your business cards, for acidus etc etc.

Well worth it, and no parts to go wrong.

Are you familiar with a lot of different wallets? Obviously you like the Stealth. Are you comparing this to many others?

Well, not really - I love the SUC, which served my purpose well - the fact that the stealth has that in made it worth my while.

I haven't needed any other wallets, so I'm afraid I cannot compare. I have heard very good tings about the outlaw wallet, however.

I like the fact that the stealth is a 'multitool' of a wallet - 2 peeks, loads, steals, billet index, out to lunch, etc etc.

Very good, but there are many good wallets out there, and indeed I have heard good things about the thought transmitter, albeit you must use it in the correct conditions.

As said, there are plenty of ways of getting information without a fancy wallet - I personally like having plenty of options.

Sorry I cannot be of more help!

I like it. I don't use anything like this much, but for a fumble Fingers like myself, it's pretty easy!

I agree with Slim on this one.

It may not be as pure as a CT or some other techniques, but it is pretty fool proof and at worst it is a nice change of pace.

I like it too, though I am nervous about it failing. I have never had anyone figure it out even in darkish spaces. I just ordered an Outlaw which might be my backup. I'm just not good yet at CT or Osterlinds PCT though they are much more elegant.

PCT is fun. For awhile I became addicted to ripping paper. Everybody in my office thought I had mental issues. Well I probably do have mental issues come to think of it.

mwolin. I am not trying to scare you. I would just have a back up routine in mind just in case it does not work. That way you wont be standing there like a fool like I was. I started cold reading a bit seeing if they would give anything up. I found out both digits were odd etc. I think I guessed like 57 and it was 53. I was close enough that I kind of pulled it off, but man did that suck! I liked it up until that very moment.

No worries, chichi. Although the thought transmitter looks a little gimmicky, I usually do something with it before using it as a p**K. For example, I will use a BCS deck and write my prediction on a sticky inside the wallet. Then when I use it for the p**K, it doesn't look suspicious. Another method is after the BCS prediction, I do an invisible deck routine where they write the card on a sticky in the wallet. That can be pretty strong and avoids some of the ID weaknesses.

My very first peek wallet was the Thought Transmitter. When I first got it, I thought it was the coolest thing on the planet. After a while, I began to realise it has weaknesses, for me at least. No matter how good your technique is, using this in any dim lighting WILL create an issue for you that can be easily spotted by a spectator. They may not know exactly what is going on, but they know something is. Secondly, anything that uses a battery could fail on you at the worst time! No thanks! I prefer low tech for this very reason.

The Stealth Assassin or the Outlaw wallet would be my recommendations. They are low tech, more reliable, you get a MUCH better peek, and they appear to be normal wallets. The TT just looks like a prop to me.

Sbays...funny, I was using the TT today and 2 things happened: First, I couldn't read what the spec wrote (she wrote it very small and partly outside the circle). Second, she was very suspicious of the TT and was convinced it was a gimmick. I am awaiting my Outlaw and I may even splurge for an Assassin. So I guess I am coming around to your view of the TT.

The TT is my first peek wallet. It differs from other props as you cant really practice using it. The thing you have to practice while using the TT is to instantly know how to read people's handwriting. I've had no problems so far but recently I performed to a couple of friends and when I was holding the TT, they grabbed it out of my hands and the light button was accidentally pressed.

...

Yes...

Dead meat...

But the girl was no spoilsport and she went "What was that?" looked at me, I winked at her, and she grinned....

My heart skipped a beat...

Chichi..I didn't; and that's the problem. I actually repeated with the TT and got what she wrote but she was very suspicious that it was a prop. I cant wait for my outlaw to arrive.
