Right now the search function is disabled but I would just like this answered. Can I use this to make objects fall in the same room, as in they will SEE the object fall. Or must it be done in another room or without them being able to see the object fall. Thanks very much!

They can actually see the object fall down. If you do it right, no evidence can be found.
Hope that helps

Ehhh... I don't know about that.
I suppose they could, but that's really if-fy and chancy-y in my opinion. This ranks up there with one of the most overpriced manuscripts in magic history, I think. As far as getting rid of the evidence, easier said than done, especially noiselessly.

I made one slight modification that aids in geting rid of the evidence more silently. I've only actually used this idea a few times and it was for some in-home seances around Halloween time. Twice it had a huge effect on the audience, even getting a couple of people to scream. But one time we were in the middle of "talking" to the spirits and nobody heard the book fall. I never deliberately put the items that were going to fall in the normal line of sight. I put them more off to the side or preferrably behind the group. The randomness of the timing of the objecs falling is also both a good and bad thing, depending on the type of seance you are performing. For $14 (I think that's what I paid for it), I don't think it's the biggest ripoff in the world, but it's not a stand-alone effect, but more of a special effect that does have limited applications is real-world performances. But, if you have the right environment, it can be a nice addition.

You can make it silent, by wrapping something arround the "you know what". Like a sponge ball, or some wool. Like this it won't make a sound.
And like the levitator mentioned, its best used behind the audience. But something it can be very strong, them seeing it falling down, I guess its a bit of of luck involved, but then, aren't we lucky from time to time... ;-)

LOL !
hey, the Solid Ghost is better than Polter ! Polter's an okay idea, but it doesn't deserve "standalone" trick status. It's something that should be found in a book among many other simple ideas and effects... a cheap book at that. IMHO, it's akin to trying to make a standalone effect out of the ol' "Making a rubberband jump from your curled index and middle fingers to your curled ring finger and pinky", and charging $10 for it. The idea just isn't that clever, revolutionary, or practical to warrant that kind of .. um.. packaging. I don't like this modern trend - if this keeps up, long gone will be the day where one can buy a magic book full of various ideas, effects, and tricks, for a nominal ammount; instead, each single trick will be a small booklet itself selling for $10 to $30 each.

Looking at the books again I was wrong about the page count. Add about 10 pages to each. I'd rather not mention two of them because I don't want to offend anyone and some people really like the material in it. But one of them is "Shivers" by Gary Sumpter. There were an ok amount of effects in the books but most are terrible in my opinion.
Sorry to go off topic in my own thread.

Usually, MaZe, usually..
but look at bizarre; in it's current form, it's a toddler, born midway or later into the past century. Add Capricornian Tales and Sheherazade, which are relatively recent even in this context, and things aren't too bad.. at least, not for us. There will always be turkeys though.

Polter is gold! I was disappointed when I got the manuscript not knowing how I was ever going to get through all those pages in that heavy tome but I finally finished it and it works. Do any of you have any suggestions other than those proposed in the large manuscript?

OK, I was kidding.
I'm trying now to work two polters into a seance but I don't want two exact effects. Also doubling or tripling the method makes a stronger effect for heavy objects. I have a failsafe for any noise that you can PM me about. |
