I just used it as a wand. I like the feel of it; it's really solid. I'm waiting for the lines to just come out of performance, but for now, it just looks and feels great! Today I'm going to try taking it out, looking at it like there's something wrong with it, then holding my left hand verticaly to it and tracing the contour of the wand with my hand in a zig-zag fashion, while looking at the wand, not the audience. Then I'll just sort of shake my head and shrug it off. It's so funny looking, I think less is more.

If my name was Mike Bent, I would suspect there's room for a play on words (Along the lines of "Mike Bent his wand" .... only clever!)
When I used to do the "flat rabbit" trick, I would forgo the roller prop and jump right into the flat rabbit. I'd explain that I accidentally sat on it while getting in the car to drive to the show. The humor came from my pantomiming sitting onto an uncomfortable, lumpy object until it flattened out. This might provide some food for thought. |

I just got mine....I love it!!! Perfect for what I want to do with it. Gazzo's floating card. A flip vanish is also possible. I really like the way it feels. Perfect wand spin too. Thank you very much Chance and Shelley!!! You guys are the best!!

For kids, "Hmmm, Ron Weasley's been here..." his wand's damaged, for those not in the Harry Potter loop...
Or, pull it out and say, "Who says magicians are crooked?" Or, pull it out fast and spin it, so the fact that it's bent isn't all that apparent, stop the spin, look at it for a moment and then do a startled - "EEEK!" Bring it out and immediately do the "bendy pencil" bit, look at the kids and say, "No, really..." and stop moving it... Just some thoughts on this prop... Lee Darrow, C.H.

I don't own the wacky wand yet, but I will soon.....how about this gag...
first use a standard break-away wand with any of the excellent routines that maybe employed. When it's time to ditch the wand, grab both ends, and start to "straighten" the wand, apparently putting much effort into the ordeal. TURN YOUR BACK on the audience, and then you put the breakaway into a pocket, and remove the wacky wand, which you have clipped inside your jacket. When you turn around, you can proudly show the "straightened" wand, of course all bent! However much the kids insist the wand is bent, you insist it's perfect! After all, you just put all that effort in making it straight, didn't you? Chance, if you read this, how about making a MATCHING breakaway wand? My breakaways cost me a small fortune, I really do break one about every two or three weeks! A rugged version, which could be re-strung when neccessary, would be great. Doug. |

....and then I got to thinking "how about a REGULAR breakaway, same style as the Wacky Wand, and a WACKY breakaway, which would have some of the pieces bent, so that it "straightens" into a bent, wacky wand! And to complete the set, a matching regular, straight wand. Then a show could start with a normal wand, swap for a breakaway once some kids are helping, then do the "straightening" business to produce the Wacky Wand. Then, some time later, substitute for the Wacky Breakaway Wand.....a running gag you could use in loads of different ways.
Any chance, Chance? |

"It's not BENT... it's, er, it's horizontally challenged... OK, OK,(pouting) I sat down on it when I was watching cartoons".
OR... "Apparently one should not use a magic wand as a HAMMER". There must also be an effect when the magic happens, the prop becomes bent too in the process (ie: a card rise - the card rises, but it also ends up crooked) ps) this was just an example, please don't do card tricks for kids. Rick
