If you are fortunate enough to find a copy of
"The Key to Lockpicking" (1981) you would find a lot of the content duplicated in Lockpicking Pt 1 & Pt 2., although these are easier to find. Some nice information in the books noted by Harry. Riley |

On the topic of David Deval, does anyone have a copy of his routine with a mailbag and handgrenade?

But I'd like to know more about it Harry. Do you have any more info on the effect?

Keeping on a Deval note, I was just watching David's Escapology video again, and noticed he mentioned two things. Firslty at the beginning of the video, he was talking about his Hiatt adjustable cuffs 115's, and said "I'll show you how to get out of them later" but upon watching the rest of the video he does'nt. Next he mentions that he'll talk about "plants" but again he does'nt.
I'm just wondering whether I''ve got a first run of the video and later editions were changed? Thanks Harry |

Hi Harry, I've owned one since it first came out and mine has the same thing. It may have just been that he did not get around to it on the vid, or it was edited out on the master. I'm guessing he just ran out of time.

In his video David is also talking about a lock he designed and that can be purchased. Do you know a place where it can still be found ?

In his Littler Files his method of Challenge escapes plus publicity with details of a very simple method to gim a padlock,,,not really practical today as these locks are pretty defunct. However the challenge details are worth their wieght in gold and have given me a very good income for so many years.

I do have the De-Val book where it shows you how to make your own from his actual plans its the early 1980 publication if you can get your hands on one. Its very detailed and shows exactly how to construct one. I ended speaking to Ian McColl and he sorted me out with some superb Padlocks.
Impossible is just another level of difficulty

I think I saw some of the De-Val books on sale on a UK site a few days ago. So they are still available.
And yes I have a few, but no I am not wanting to part company with them. |

Ian is the man. I had a one of a kind thumbcuff. I lost it. I talked to Ian. Although he had never heard of such a cuff, a few months later, I had two of them. One goes on the road and one goes on th shelf.
