What I'm saying is it takes time to become a master mason, you have the choice to quit if you don't like the direction it is taking you. So please do call the local guys. Thanks Now for Al , My blue lodge is 30 minutes from your house, and guess what I know three of the men are catholic. And two of the three are school teachers in Collegeville. Payne - I'm not saying a mason did not get shot in the lodge. I'm saying a man did not get shot during a masonic ritual. It would be impossible, that's all I can say about that. Now if a bunch of masons got together to haze a fellow brother in a lodge that can happen anywhere, but it can't happen during a lodge meeting or ritual. |

So, who's got an electric carpet that I can buy?
Hmmmm??? One of yous guys got too!!!! I've got in my collection, an assorted "lot" of Freemason, Odd Fellows and Shriner relics, costuming and apparatus. Looks to me like there is some interesting things that take place, at least they took place around 100 years ago (most of the stuff I have is around 80-100 some years old)... Maybe they change their minds like the Catholics, there is a purgatory, now there isn't a purgatory, blah blah blah. Brett.

It can be pretty hilarious. You could find out all about the Catholic Churchs attitude towards Masonry if you were so inclined. Of course, then you would have to let go of your ill informed prejudices. And you wouldn't want to do that. The fact is that for CENTURIES the Catholic Church forbade their members to join Masonic organizations. Like I said, there have been many Masons that were "freethinkers". And free thinking has never really been the stock and trade of the Roman Catholic church, has it? If you're intrested; http://www.io.com/~janebm/churchlaw.html There is plenty more out there if you want to read it. Just look around. For the record I'm neither Catholic nor a Mason, so it matters not to me. But you might as well have your facts straight if you are going to run around slamming an organization.

It's not that big a deal, the Masons don't want me, and I don't want them. I am also not a Knights of Columbus member. The only secret societies I belong to are the IBM, and the SAM. I would never do anything that would force Sophia Loren to make me give back my gold chains. Now that I have shared my thoughts here I am done talking. Have a nice day

Fine. Now that you know the facts I have nothing more to say about it anyway. I KNOW you wouldn't want to be walking around expousing bigoted veiwpoints that aren't really supported by the facts. No, you definately don't want to be doing that.
You're Welcome.

Certainly sheds a different light on the subject. I'm a bit surprised at how recently this happened. I actually thought the Church backed down from most of that stuff in the 80's.

Jack Chick's work makes most Protestants consider adopting excommunication as a temporary Protestant doctrine....just this once.

I am an Oddfellow, which is kind of like the masons, from what I know of the Masons, While we have secrets they are open to anyone who wants to join. Much like the magic community where we have secrets, mystery abounds. I cant tell you anymore.
