I saw the trick of Ring Flight on TV and well, my type, street magic thing.
Then, I knew there were similar products, such as Rinkey Dinky, Ring Flight. Well, but surfing The Café, I realized Ring Flight has a reel, and it's unreliable, but I don't know about Rinkey Dinky. SO!!! I decided to buy Rinkey Dinky because of no reel! But, is it true Rinkey Dinky has no reel, which is better? I'm so confused. What should I get? Which is stronger? Which has no reel? Help!!! |

For a really nice non-reel ring flight, you may want to check out The Morelli Ring at Viking Magic. http://www.vikingmagiccompany.com/?nd=full&key=450
Unfortunately I see that they are currently out of stock on this item.If you leave your email with George, he will contact you when they are back in stock though. |

Absolutely the best ring flight trick is Steve Dusheck's "ringer" there is no reel, on reset and it will knock your sox off, for a mere $30.

"just in case" is a great trick, but I don't know if Pete really hates to keep saying it. It is strickly a mater of taste ringer, and just in case are both great ring flight tricks, and you will not be sorry no matter which of the two you buy.

Answering the Rinky Dink question directly before I will now say the Peter's Just in Case is my new favorite for the last year.
Before that I was using Mike Close's handling of Gaeton Bloom's ring flight. The name escapes me at the moment.

Well, Korea(S) is this place, and there are only ring flight and rinkey dinky.
Then, is it possible to make rinkey dinky a non-reel trick? |

RINGER,,,, the only gimmick is the key ring your hands do the rest, and this can be pereformed in your under wear, and repeated instantly over and over if need be,,

Just In Case is great. I also love Bloom's Flying Ring. Rinky Dink is OK but not the best reel version on the market; and why use a reel when there are safer and easier and more sure fire methods available?

What about morelli?
can it vanish instantly? I heard that you need palm. I don't think morelli can show your bare hands. |

If you want a Rinky Dinky or a Ringer, I will sell them both to you for $50 plus shipping. Both were non workable in my opinion. And Rinky Dinky is a reel.
The Morelli Ring served me well for 3 years as a Bartender and probably logged close to 850 - 900 performances behind the bar in addition to everyday use and strolling gigs. I don't agree with the reset for Morelli. It resets instantly. I took one look at Ringer and placed it right back in the bag. I have been using Pete's Just In Case for about a year and a half now, and it is quite nice. |

I have heard numerous owners of rinky dink have an issue with quality. A few shows and down. Not one I would recomend. Just in case is one of the best ones.

I too was not very happy with Rinky Dinky. My advice would be to avoid it.

A post from a longggggg time back but maybe worthy of chatting about to test the waters - 5 1/2 years down the line from the last post!
Okay - so Rinkey Dinkey. What have I read before on this, and other, forums? (i) - Reel problems (ii) - Difficulties with angles (iii) - Difficulty attaching the spectators ring (iv) - Noisy Well, I've used mine now regularly for the last three years so what can I report back on. (i) There's been no jams, breaks, rings flying through the air and all the other things that people seem to worry about that I don't know really happen in the 'real world' (no pun intended). Then again, I treat the prop with respect. I don't pull the necessary fully out to within an inch of it's life, and I've worked on a way so that it stops (obviously out of sight!) midway thru flight (if you get what I mean) so that the remaining 50% of the ring's journey is slower and doesn't hit the key at breakneck speed - thus overcoming potential mechanical problems. I also don't use the prop to bungee jump, lasso raging bulls or tow caravans - so by treating it with respect (to do the job it's designed for) I don't envisage problems. That said, if there ever WAS a problem, I have a 100% cast iron get out of jail card. (ii) Difficulties with angles - well I must admit having not performed it totally surrounded by 500 people at a nudist beach but come on guys - this is predominantly a trick to perform whilst strolling - you can use nearly every natural body movement under the sun to cover the necessary - WORK ON IT - for heaven sake - whatever happened to PRACTICE? (iii) Ring attachment problems - seen this on a few reviews and all I can say is that if you think that the spectator's ring is difficult to attach, then quite honestly you are doing something wrong. The clip can be held in a totally natural position, the clip is very loose to open yet still snaps shut tightly AND it's the only version I've ever used/seen that takes a much larger ring than most. I've also (previously) tried the Mark Leveridge version (clever idea) and the Gaeton Bloom version by Vernet. The Leveridge version is okay but it's got its faults - whereas the Vernet version can only mostly be used for very narrow female wedding bands, etc. Also, both of these use a key case which (and I may be wrong) is not an item that people readily use in the UK; NOR possibly even seen - unless they are over 96 years of age! This is even more worrying with the Bloom version, the prop just cries 'gimmick'. Who has ever seen such a little camp purse with a gold chain hanging from within it? It cries out 'magic trick gimmick' in my view. Also, sticking your thumb inside to open up a spring loaded purse is hardly natural nor very convincing close-up. (iv) Noise - this is actually quite a comical negative. I can only assume that the 'people will hear it' brigade are probably those that worry about getting caught palming cards, or the noise a shell coin makes, etc. For heaven sake where do these people perform - in a monastery or at a wake? For goodness sake - how anyone can worry about the 'noise' in a bar or restaurant table hopping environment amazes me! Well there you go - just an update on a prop that was all the rage a few years back and then seems to have been lost in the wilderness. The purpose of this post? Maybe, just maybe, it will spur one or two of you into digging it out of the drawer, cleaning it up and giving it another go. If this happens, and just a handful of magicians decide to go and use it - and entertain people with a beautiful piece of magic, then the last 10 minutes of my life typing this have been more than worthwhile.

My two recommendations: Pro-Flite by Nicholas Einhorn (my top recommendation) and Just In Case from Pete Biro. The first is a non-reel version and the second uses a reel.
I hope this helps. |
