Large scale illusions and levitations aside, what are some of the routines that you've used to close your show?

I use any of the following products from Wolfs Magic...Chicken Sword, Wacky Weasel or ABC Gumball Recombobulator. My usual is the Chicken Sword.

I end with making magic candy in a dove pan, combining it with a volunteer trying different wands. I know others make cookies and other confections as well. I have no problem buying off my young audiences at the end of a routine!

When I START a show I use the dove pan to make magic flowers appear.

I either end with a Candy Production via Dove Pan (child helper), Vanishing Bandanna, or Bearded Dragon Production via Elusive Bunny Box (child helper).
Very shortly I will be adding a Chair Suspension for a deluxe show finale. Brian |

I like to do the Egyptian Time Box( It’s the Box you show empty then produce a Cup of water) This is the way I use it, after showing a few effects I bring out the box and say “This is the Egyptian Time Box and” then I say oh you saw this ok and I put it away, I do two or more effects and I bring out the box again and say “This is the Egyptian Time Box and” Oh that’s right someone here saw this? So the children scream NO WE DID NOT SEE IT PLEASE, so I do my last few effects and say I think that’s it, but they will remind me of the Egyptian Time Box, I bring out the box and say you guys really want to see this? And I get a big YEAH. So I say this is the Egyptian Time Box( show box empty and close it put it on the table) and when a magician ask the Egyptian Time Box what time is it, I reach into the top of the box and pull out a 36” silk that says “GOOD BYE”
Egyptian Time box says its time to say good bye, but I ask the Egyptian Time box why and again I pull out a 36” silk that says “The END” so when I pull the silk out I say because this is the End. Maro

My closer is the Vanishing Bandana. Kids howl at it and it always gets them to applaud because they are prompted to do so. Ends the show nicely!

I like to wrap up with a rabbit wringer routine. I use it to finish all of my shows for any age group and it always kills.

Putting my chair suspension aside, I can end my shows with several different effects absed upon the age and the performance situation I am in. A lot of the kids and such love the Optical Illusion magic Disc that I perform. I gets everyone involved in the fun and the reaction hits everyone at the same time. It is easy to do but plays really well for children and larger crowds also.

Bruce Kalver made them up and sells them now. I am sure theyare probably sold by most magic stores online and the like. It is about a 2 foot high disc of black and white stripes leading inward. You spin it and have them look at it and stare at it for 30 seconds. after 30 seconds you have them look at your nose and your entire head will appear to either be getting larger or shrinking all in how the disc is spun. It is a great and simple prop that always plays well for groups I have used it for.
