Anyone got the skinny on RSVP magic's brain drain - the video on the site looks pretty good.

Paulie,
The video quality looks good, but.. I think 45.00 bucks is a bit pricey for a "foward facing" brainwave (and DVD). But if someone likes the brainwave deck, it is a much "easier" way to do it. (No counting, etc.) To each their own. Sean |

Ahhh - I didn't spot the price tag - that does seem a little steep.
Anyone else got any comments - such as value for money (when compared with the regular R&S brainwave). Cheers, - Paulie. |

Hi Matt,
I hope I can answer some questions for you. The deck does use the R & S principle, but I believe, in a completely new and different way. The advert says that the cards are not stuck together. The reason why I think this is such a strong effect are: 1 - All the cards are shown at the beginning, face up and the audience really do see all 52 cards, not the usual 26 cards as with the brainwave deck, which I always think is a very weak point when performing the trick close up. 2 - Unlike the brainwave deck, the card can be chosen at any time, not before they are pulled out of the card case. The spectator can even change their mind at the last minute and the choice is completely free! I hope this answers a few questions without giving too much away. I know that Murphys have just received the decks and dvd's, but supplies really are limited due to the time that they take to produce. There are also some additonal ideas using the deck, plus a whole section from the Martin sanderson DVD "Corporate Close Up" where you can apply another kicker finish using the Brain Drain deck. They're also available from my website. All the best, Russ |

Hi Chris,
Yes, you'll need to do a basic one-handed fan! That's the only 'move' that you need to do though. Regards, Russ |

OK, I'm on the hook now - especially as you can show all 52 cards, and you don't need the selection prior to removing the cards.
I'll stick an order in and post a review... Thanks for the info Russ. |

I believe the ad states not stuck cards to suggest a different method from the effect Dark Card. Dark Card is the same efffect, but the deck can be used for other effects.

If a new and different way of using roughing fluid appeals to you, then buy this. I did. It's a pretty good trick.
However, IMO "Chicago Opener / Red Hot Mama" is about 10 X better than this $45. card trick. I don't want to hurt anyone's sales, but I think it's way overpriced. And, the optional Omni Deck finish doesn't really make sense. But, don't listen to me... Robert |

Do listen to Robert.
The Omni Deck idea doesn't' make sense. The method is cool. The effect is good. The price is high for a card trick. IMHumbleO

Gotta agree with Robert, I have become much more value conscious in my old age....$45 bucks is indeed way overpriced
