You've just stumbled across the best collection of periodicals for bizarre/seance performers. Its right up there with the old Invocation periodicals.
Its a collection of 12 magazines from the late 80's early 90's. Has a lot of prop making and performance ideas for those interested in seance work and other bizarre stuff. Things like self extinguishing candles, spirit writing etc. are contained within.
It was quite rare until recently when Kaufman republished it.

I rate it very highly!!

Me too - you can't go wrong if you want to do some otherwoldly goodness- from the medium's grip to presentation ideas and Eugene Burger musings - c'mon!

You can change most of it to pure PK and psychometry etc. if you want or keep the material spiritual...

It is a wealth of information. I was at a party and saw a seance performed there straight out of the paages of Seance. very effective.

Well the book has just arrived. What a beautiful well put together book.

I just picked up a copy of this book and all I can say is that its one of the best magic books I have purchased to date. I can't wait to perform a séance using some of this material. Anyone know where I can get a nice set of spirit slates?

Kyle -- there are several types. Run a search for slates at someplace like hocus-pocus.com and you will see a variety of prices and styles. If you want to go low-tech and much less expense, you will find a move for doing a spirit slate routine with ungimmicked slates in Seance. You can pick them up at any craft store for about $5.

I saw one on the shelf of the local magic store today. I'm sure that if you give Your Favorite Local Store a call or cyber-shout, they can help you to lay hands upon this tome once more.

Unlike a few years ago, when they were fetching more than double the release price on eBay and when a few of us picked up our copies...

I bought my copy from one of the stores on eBay and I believe I have seen it listed at few other places as well.

I have seen them listed out there, but I can't tell from the descriptions if they are any good. I also don't know which size I should get. Maybe I'll try going the ungimmicked route first to get a feel for them.
