Has anyone been to the "Magic Jamboree" in Newberg, Oregon. It's hosted by Stan Kramien. I'm thinking about going but I don't know anything more that what his flyers say.
Any input? |

I've always had a great time. It's held in a converted horse barn out in the middle of nowhere, but don't let that stop you. Great shows, great people, and a great time is had by all. I've been going since 99 and now wish I'd started sooner.

I've heard that the Michael Mode lecture alone will be worth the price of the convention. Then again, I'm a little biased

We have attended for the past 3 years and it is a BLAST! This is a smaller, more humble convention with a lot of friendly people just having a good time. Plus hearing Stan talk about the good ol days and watching Pete Biro do his bits is always great fun. I can assure you it will be a great experience especially given the great guests!

I love working at Kramien's "DO" -- lots of fun, great people, super friendly, great hosts (FOOD) and Stan knows how to pick the talent.

Thanks guys, I'm sold! I've sent in my registration.
Michael, I can't wait to hear your lecture. Someone on the Café told me it alone was worth the cost of registration. Pete, I've read a lot of your posts here on the Café. It will be nice to meet you in person. I've reserved a double bed room at the hotel and then a friend canceled the trip due to a wedding. I have the room for Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights. PM me if you are interested in sharing the room. Kipp Sherry |

GET A ROOM FOR ONLY $30.00 A NIGHT!!!
I reserved a room with two beds, @ $60.00 per night. Split the cost with me and we'll each pay $30.00 per night. You would only have to pay for the nights you are there. If you're planning on going, I don't know how you can pass on such a deal. PM me if your interested. Kipp Sherry |

Okay,
One week away from the Jamboree. I still have an extra bed. LAST BEST OFFER! The price difference between a single and a double bed room is $15.00. Pay the difference and you can have the bed. $60.00 total for a full 4 nights. Any takers, or do I give it to Chance Wolf as a birthday present? |

I signed up for the contest.
Maybe I should switch to my bar routine for the competition. Thanks for the inside info on the judges, Kipp Sherry |

I'll probably get roped into judging this year since it would look really bad if I entered the contest after what happened last year.

IT WAS A BLASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSST. Wood have been better if Chance was there tho.
Caveney and Fukai KILLED on final night show. I had a great time doing the Egg Bag session, with help from Payne... and MCing. Just in from airport and stopped off at Magic Castle to attend Billy McComb's memorial service. Many thanks for hospitality of George Olsen and Sharon... and the wine from Rick Kramien. And the gourmet chef's that did the BBQ... what a treat. Contests were very good attendance was great... Abbott Magic from Michigan with boss Greg Bordner was there too. Falkenstien and Willard cancelled as did Skilldini (he had family emergency). Tired, need some sleeeeep... comments from others???????? Nice to put faces on some many Café members too. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Hey there folks, I also had a great time...and yes I judged the contests again this year and even managed to rope Payne into it. The contests were well attended and everyone gave it there all. The shows as all shows do had its ups and its downs. I wont go into those acts but will agree with Pete that Fukai and Mike Caveany did a great job. I also enjoyed Duane Laflin, Pete Biro and Murray Hatfield crushed everyone with his illusions. The weather was great, the food was great and I once again had a great time.
