I prefer the r*** version of this effect, yet I do not see a commercially made product, therefore the r*** must be a separate item form the silk.

What r***s would someone recommend from experience?

Silk King Studio (Rice Silks) does carry a commercially made product. It's called Knotty Silks. However, it doesn't use a r**l so maybe that's exactly what you don't want but here's the link just in case:'s%20Knotty%20Silks.htm

P.S. I have it in an envelope and played around when I first got it last year. It's one of those things on my to do list for spring vacation.

Hi James:

The George Kirkendal r**l is excellent, but no longer made; it shows up from time to time on ebay. I noticed Stevens Magic has one called "ultra r**l" and it looks good. Lastly, I believe Owen Magic still sells their model.

I've had both Kirkendal and Owen models, and liked them both very much. The Owen model surprisingly wasn't that expensive.

I hope this helps you.
