On the other hand, a ubiquitous plastic water bottle has a good impromptu feel to it. Can't tell from the demo how good the ring bit looks but reviews will help.
The trick won't be released for another few weeks, so maybe someone will review it later in April.
Like Bonnie Raitt said, "I miss Little Feat more than I miss being 8 years old." Thanks for the concerts + recordings, Lowell, Richie, and Paul!

The ring in bottle (not the penny in bottle) looks like a new principle to me and is very clever if it's what I think it is. Personally, I prefer bottlecap in bottle, although that's not impromptu (which doesn't matter to me but I know it would to some others).

Hmmm,
I suspect the method here is similar to Kevin Parker's Passin' Thru. I wonder if there is some relation? The shakeout at the end looks a bit dodgy too, IMO. |

I think that the B.U.I. ring in bottle uses a completely different method than the Parker effect.
I believe that with this one you're clean at all times because there's nothing extra to hide (you're not clean with Parker's effect), but when the ring's inside you can't hand out the bottle (you can do that with Parker's effect). If impromptu is important, I'd go with this effect. If a slightly more visual penetration and the ability to hand out the bottle are important to you, I'd go with Parker's effect. At the end of the day, I still prefer bottlecap in bottle. |

Larry, what is it you prefer about Cap in Bottle?

It's sound very good: "borrowed ring in a borrowed bottle"
But in reality it's doesn't looks good. "remove the cap and pour the ring out from the mouth of the bottle" - Look very suspicion "Leave everything with them and walk away"- In the video he walk away with the bottle. The video is very edited and the effect looks dirty I prefer Kevin Parker's Passin' Thru: more visual & looks clean. I hope that I'm wrong, in April 10th I will know better. |

2 different methods here....one for the ring and one for the penny....I have a feeling people are going to be extrememly disappointed with what they get for their money on this one lol

The penny effect looks very similar to the parker effect, except for the visualness of the penetration, the shaking out of the lid looked horrible, and as many people will do, I have my own thinking on how this is done

That may not matter to others, but it appeals to me. Second, it's more magical because the bottlecap penetrates multiple times--to the inside, back to the outside, and back inside again. If it was less visual than the other methods I might say that the actual penetration itself wasn't as magical, but I believe that it's as visual. Third, I find it a great way to give out my "business card." After the second penetration--where it penetrates from the inside to the outside of the bottle--I write my name and telephone number on the inside of the bottlecap with a Sharpie marker and then make the bottlecap penetrate back into the bottle which I give away as a souvenir. The particular version I use is my variation of Scotty York's version using the Rey Ben gimmick. All of the above being said, I'm not saying that either of the other products is poor, just not they're not my preference. Larry |

It's definitely the same method, just with a different subtlety by modifying the handling of the gimmick to prove that the ring is inside the bottle. I very much prefer Kevin's subtlety and this isn't different enough to be called original.

Thanks Larry, check my reply to you. I still believe it's the same method and the two should contact each other to avoid inconvenience, just in case. I might be wrong, but it's really staring at me right in the face, and I can imagine a 50 page thread if the product is released.

I am tired of watching magic ...LOL what is wrong with the old methods? why do people think we need to make a improvement on things we know that work and work well. Coin in bottle, Ray Ben cap, ect. I know this is harsh but come up with a NEW EFFECT not a revampted one. I am just tired of seeing the same effect different method. This is just my thoughts, Plus this looked really bad and the handling was pretty bad as well, the ring looked like it was were it really was not were it should be if it was magic(hope that made sense) Anyway just felt like rambling on for a minute..

I got the DVD and I think it is a great impromptu effect. It is very good for table hopping and once you get the DVD you can have this ready in less than a minute. I like the ring effect best of the two. You can borrow any ring and toss the ring at the bottom of the bottle and the ring is inside. Howard of the Trickery goes into a lot of detail on this and the price is right. If you want a great impromptu effect that can be done at a moments notice I think you will like this one.

However, I just viewed the B.U.I. demo and in fact the bottle *with* *ring* *inside* was the last thing shown on it. OTOH, with Parker's effect the bottle cannot be shown with the coin inside but can be handed out to spectators sans coin. They are both impressive tricks, in my view, in any case.
