Does anyone own one of these puppets:

or can speak of the quality? They look great and the correspondence I've had with them has been very good. Just curious if anyone had one of these puppets.

Thanks

Here's my two cents, but I am also speaking as a puppet maker and professional puppeteer for the last twenty-odd years.

Pros --

Value - excellent
Craftsmanship - pretty good
design - nice
Do they work? - pretty well. I don't think there will be a lot of problems with them, especially if you are willing to take the time with the puppet

Cons --

Builder got kind of snarky with a client I had sent to him when she asked a question. I have a _huge_ problem with that kind of thing.

Arm rods will want to be replaced when you get the puppet

Eyes, ditto. They are the weakest part of the design and construction, _unless_ and this is very important, they have changed the way things are built.

All in all, I think they do a good job on the design, they have a slightly different look than all of the "muppet clones" out there, and I recommend them if you like the basic look of the character and are willing to do a little (and by that I mean only an hour or two at most) reworking when you get your figure.

Ditto. Characters are excellent...eyes are styrofoam and like said the weakest part of the puppet. BUT...the prices are right...characters Beautifully and fully clothed...full body even has the shoes...

My concern was that the opening in the backs (I got vent style) were not seamed and the sweater/shirt etc. will need sewing to retain integrity. The Hound Character I had made has a too small opening for my hand....however, that was my fault for not telling him I have LARGE hands. I am selling the Hound, which has a great look to it. (see it at http://PuppetsLIVE.com )
If you have a regular sized hand you will have no issues.

The other one I ordered (He has the blond hair) is better than I could have hoped for (except for the sewing issue on the costuming).

I really do like the accuracy and professionalism of the character design though...really high level for the little money you spend.

So I'm in agreement with pixsmith's assesment.

Thanks Doug and Pixsmith, I really appreciate your input. I'm looking to add another character to the show and these caught my eye. They look great and I don't mind doing the little clean up on the costuming.

Take care,

Ken
