Good advice all around. It is a difficult move. I really think this should be in Secret Sessions, but...Try this: The fingertips hold onto the pen cap...at the same time that your wrist begins the slight jerking motion, also bend your finger in/down towards the palm of the hand. Do this very slightly, then...at the exact same time that your wrist sends the cap on it's way, straighten the fingers and release. This will double the velocity of the pen cap without having to really throw the thing. Might help it be more invisible. I do something similar to this when doing the vanish in a C&B routine.

With a pen cap held at the fingertips you can use a sort of Pumpkin Seed Vanish to project the cap.
After a lot of practice the vanish from the palm, or fingertips, becomes almost a Zen type thing and movement should lessen. Rather than striking I find that waving the hand over the object can also be effective. |
