I am looking for cards that have large numbers on them, similar to flash cards only NOT with equations, just numbers. Big numbers (not high value, just LARGE, visible numbers.) These are to be handled extensively by people, so making them with dry-transfer or other methods doesn't seem practical. I've checked teachers' sites, but can only find cards with six elephants, or three bunnies ... no plain old numbers.
Anyone know of a source for these? |

Mark, Take a look at packaged card games like Skip-Bo and Uno. Big visual numbers.
If you're careful you can erase the indices if relevant.

Starrpower - I too have searched for these & asked at the Café. I can't believe other kid's magicians haven't wanted them, they would be perfect for many age groups. If you ever find them please share with everyone. I have even thought about having some special made, but it's expensive. Thanks.

Just find your local teachers store and they will have 'em. The stores are usually small and out of the way. I'm really surprised that the teacher sites don't have them.

I have had Bernd Maucksch make me me a number of custom cards - this will be more expensive than a teachers' store, but if you can't find them there... His work is beautiful. Here is his website in Germany: http://www.magicbycardmaker.com Ron Reid |

I know ... that's why I came here! Unfortunately, I only need 1 through 5, and five sets of each, so it looks like I'm gonna be buying LOTS of decks that will not, for the most part, be used! |

Look at the card games UNO
http://www.thehouseofcards.com/retail/uno.html SKIP-BO http://www.thehouseofcards.com/retail/skipbo.html and PHASE 10 http://www.thehouseofcards.com/retail/phase10.html These have the cards you want at cheaper prices (and don't look like they are specially printed for your effect). 0pus |

Just buy a blank deck and go to Walmart or Kmart and buy your own numbers and then have them laminated at you local office supply store. This is simple and inexpensive. I have made my own decks this way and it is great.

I've checked the teachers' supply stores and can only find cards with equations, or "2 monkeys", not just numbers.

Just came home from a visit to Wal-Mart and back in the toy section they had a selection of educational flash cards including a set of 1-100 cards with no puppies or monkeys to be found for < $3.00.

Mark,
Get the dvd Veristal Monte. He teaches how to make your own cards. All you need is blank faces. I have done this and the cards are very durable, just like normal. Also are you looking for poker size or jumbo size? You could also print on a clear lable and stick it to the card, but the dvd will teach you how to make them and they are come out amazing.
Nothing of the same will bring any change, take action today!

Depending on the size you need I'd suggest getting post cards from Avery (office supply store) and print your own.
