Wow, I am grateful for everyone's feedback.
I did not mean to come off harsh.....I love watching magicians, and I think MagicVideoDepot is wonderful!!! The reason I posted in this forum is because I've observed this phenomena here the most. I've haven't seen a posting that says "watch my elmsley". It's probably not as visually interesting as a momentary vanish of a coin. As I said, I love to watch magic. When Rannie posts - he gives you a routine...that is great to watch. Or when Jussy posted Silver Dream - incredible. However, these were all complete routines. I think we all benefit from this, be it here , or on videodepot. The feedback issue is important...I didn't mean to flame anyone. I understand that some may not have access to trusted sources for this. If you need honest feedback - go for it. My original post was inspired by watching a clip where someone asked for feedback after putting in (by their own account) a whole half hour of practice in...... |

Tedski,
Your original post was fantastic. It was an eye opener. You are absolutely right about the "watch my Elmsley" variety. Especially when done bad. Thanks for bringing this up. Till my next video post, Rannie

What I think is interesting is the lack of clips posted of people actually working in front of a real audience.

Most posters I know don't own video cams. most share their ideas on a move or what have you with only the aid of a web cam.
It would be interesting though to see applications and routines rather than just moves. This would be great for the novice perfprmers. For the working magician, all it takes realy is a new move to "move" his act or existing routines. Heck even just to be inspired again.
