Check out http://www.silkmagic.biz/ or contact Bob Sanders here at The Magic Café. I'm pretty sure they have solid-color silk streamers.
Bob is a great guy and I'm sure he will try to help you out. Regan

Hey Regan - ditto on Bob Sanders!
I got a 12' blue streamer from Bob. Dovelite silks are great! Scott Compton

Wow! I have friends in high places! Thank you gentlemen! I'm flattered.
There has been a real interest in good solid color silk streamers for the last few years. Historically, streamers were made from the left over strips of silk when squares were cut from bolts of silk. Now we are cutting up whole bolts to make solid color silk streamers. (Of course dancers and costumers use them too.) The multicolor ones were usually the consequence of trying to salvage a bolt of stained, faded or misdyed silk. The multicolor streamers disguised the uneven color problem and gave very colorful streamers too. We frankly haven't needed to do that in the last couple of years. It's easy enough to make your own that go better with your routine from solid color silks. The method is in The Rice Encyclopedia. You can also take solid color streamers and use an airbrush or Sharpie pens to put messages, seasonal decorations, scenes, etc. on silk streamers. We can make them up to 1500' long. But 30' is about as large as you can use effectively on stage. The 12' length is about as large as an adult can keep off the floor by circling with his arms. The 8" x 12' is my personal favorite. Remember that you can use a 4"x36" streamer anywhere a 12" square could be used. And it is certainly a larger looking and flasher production. Solid colored 100% pure silk streamers are certainly available and useful. Enjoy! Bob Sanders Magic By Sander |

David,
Thanks for the welcome back. I've been on the road but I try to keep up with The Magic Café on my laptop. Wednesday we leave again for the midwest. That weekend is the 35th Cavalcade of Magic in Eureka Springs near Branson. Lucy and I are performing separately there. You do know that I will be through Nashville on the way north April 27th. Do you think the Nashville Ring would tolerate me for a free silk lecture then? We will be loaded with silks for the Illinois show that weekend. I know that the time is short. Enjoy! Arno, Congratulations on getting the streamers you wanted. Ricker is a good man to know. Enjoy your silk magic. Bob Sanders Magic By Sander |
