Anyone know the difference (besides price) between the Owen's Gossamer Flight and
the European Asrah advertised on Tilford's site? Thanks for the help. David Lawrence |

Correct me if I am wrong, but as far as I know the basics should be quite the same.

If the basics are the same why the big difference in price?

Does it use the same method ?

I too was once very interested in the Gossamer Flight Illusion. However, considering an asrah illusion, the best is still to perform it with the rigging. The Owen's Couch has a more unique design and the European one looks quite squarish.

Do the Owen's and the European versions use the same method?

Yes, but....
The form works sort of like the zombie ball, and the vanish is quite complex to make. If I had to have this illusion, Owen's is the way to go. |

Why the difference in price? I know the quality difference but I thought that there may be a difference in method or ???

European asrah is a f*** with an atthacment on the belt and is compressible.
The classic asrah is made of metallic wire and flys with w***. |

Much of the difference lies in the couch. The Gossamer flight uses a wonderful b*** A** principal and the Steven's one doesn't. It uses just a regular couch or a sneak away method depending on the version you buy.
I've never used the Gossamer but I'd bet dollars to donuts that it's much lighter. Neither are very good in my opinion. I don't really like any of the versions that you have to crumple the cloth and hide it. I'd rather see the cloth pulled away to reveal "NOTHING"... it's much more magical. For the kind of money that Owen charges you can actually get a much better illusion.. like a modern cabinet for Things that go BUMP... or a Gamalo Levitation with no vanish. |
