Greetings...I was thinking of having the spectator write down his thought of card on a piece of flash paper and then doing a good center tear and then imprint(blister) the thought of card on your fingers as you reach for the pocket lighter to ignite the flash paper...just a brainstorm....ALEX

I really hope for those who have seen this, kindly tell me if the pocket time is longer compared to Pyro Perception. If so, is it very much longer?

HOwdy guys,on some what of a side note, wouldn't this be nice if it could be incorporated into any intials called for
,ie someone thinks of that special person, either says it,or center tear, and then proceed to divine the intials, could this be possible or would that definately constitute a long time in the pocket. just wondering derek

Here's my idea for using this product without fire.
Have the spectator write down the name of her thought-of card, and then you secretly obtain the info for example via a peek wallet or John Cornelius' Thought Transmitter. Reach into your pocket, remove a small magnifying glass (and do the dirty work), and hand the magnifying glass to the spectator. Ask the spectator to look through the magnifying glass and to think of the name of her card, focusing on it as hard as possible. Place your hand a couple of feet in front of the magnifying glass at the "focal" point of the spectator's thoughts, and rub your fingers together, explaining that you're trying to "feel" the spectator's thoughts. All of a sudden, smoke is seen coming out of your fingers (using Ultra Smoke 2000), the same way that smoke might come out of an object that's placed in front of a magniying glass shining sunlight on that object. Quickly withdraw your hand as you wince in pain, and then show the card blisters on your fingertips. Um, can you tell that I'm looking forward to receiving this product? Larry |

Hey Larry,
I like where you're going with this, especially the small magnifying glass route...that's great. I was also brainstorming the other night about perhaps using a small piece of aluminum foil or a chewing gum wrapper and applying a small amount of Devil's Inferno(?)moistened powder(do you guys remember this?) to the foil and rolling it up into a small ball and placing it inside of spectator's hand and wait a few seconds til it gets pretty hot that the spectator has to drop it to the floor. Casually touch spectator's hand and explain that you felt the heat also and then reveal the predicted blister...ALEX |

Look forward to your review Larry. Magic 1178: An effect with initials would be awesome also and curious if something could be done to adapt this.

Alex, I like your idea as well, although I'd try to come up with an "outward motivation" for using the aluminum foil. Good thinking!

Hello:
First, let me thank you so much for your support. I am really excited about our debut trick, and can't wait for it to be released! Second, I'll let you down not-so-gently Sean: yeah, your name was off a bathroom wall! lol Just kidding. And now, a little bit about Third Degree Burn: The effect, and description that you read are bang-on accurate. Any card named. No force. Anytime. Always ready to go! To answer one of the major questions regarding the time it takes to do the dirty work: For me, from the moment that I know the spectator's card, I have done the dirty work and am ready for the climax within only 15-20 seconds! During this time I am talking a little bit, asking if there is anything I did or said that made them think of this card, confirming that it was their free choice, etc. The spectator would have no reason to suspect anything during this, because the words that I am saying are quite natural and are things you would normally ask someone. However, if you want to use the full worded presentation that is supplied, it gives you PLENTY of time to do the dirty work while you are talking---so no worries there. Everyone who has tried this trick doing it either the long way or the short way has never had a problem nor been suspected of doing anything fishy. Finally, I must stress that there are routines included that do not require the use of fire. I know that these were important to develop, because I want minors (and/or performers who find themselves in the situation where NOBODY happens to have a lighter on them) to still be able to do the trick. So for those of you "non-fire" people, you can still do Third Degree Burn with no problems! So as I say, I really appreciate your time and feedback. I think that you are going to love this trick. Just looking at the handful of reactions on the video, you can see what those spectators thought of when THEIR FREELY named card was blistered on my fingers. They were stunned and went nuts (giggling, shreaking, etc.)! Looking forward to our release! Have a great day and thank you for your time. Jason |

Hello again,
Still brainstorming for a non-fire routine. How about telling the spectator that you will divine his selection by using two of your senses...sight & touch. Touch your forefinger & thumb together and bring out a pocket mini-laser pen and shine the laser at your thumb & forefinger and then pretend that's it's getting too hot and pretend to cool off your fingers by gently blowing on them and then reveal the blistered prediction...still thinking...ALEX |

Hello:
Alex, Larry: those are great ideas! The beauty about Third Degree Burn is that there are SO MANY possible presentation thoughts for it! Like you guys, other magicians have been offering many suggestions and other great presentation ideas and tips. Because of this, we have decided to release a free Electronic Book in the near future that details many of these thoughts. Once you purchase the trick, you can go to the link on the Third Degree Burn page on our site (the link on the page is not there yet). Fill in the form, so that we can send you a complimentary copy once this .pdf book is completed. In addition, if you have an idea that you would like included in this publication (along with a name credit, of course!), you can also write down your idea, and if it is chosen it will be added into the book. Of course, the link for the form will "appear" as well as the PayPal button, shipping info, etc. once the trick is available for sale. Love the ideas! Keep 'em coming! Thank you for your time. Hello everyone:
I'm so sorry: I forgot to mention a release date! Everyone has been asking, and it only just dawned on me that I hadn't explained it yet here on the Café (.....okay, VcosNJ's last post also just reminded me! lol). I am expecting to receive the products by the last week of April (I've posted a release date of "End of April" on our website, and at that point we can start sending out individual orders purchased at the site. Then I'm guessing that it will take a few days to a week to get the bulk order down to our distributor (Murphy's). After that it should be another a day or so for the tricks to arrive at the shops from Murphy’s. So I'm thinking that they SHOULD be in the shops by the first or second week of May. However, this "available" date could in fact end up being a little sooner or later then I'm expecting. This is because of the many possible factors involved that I have no control over (shipping times, border delays, etc.). So as I say, this could slightly delay or move up our release. Again, individual sales can be done through our site, and dealers can get these through Murphy's. I hope that answers the question! I'll keep everyone updated should anything change. Thank you for your time. Jason |

Wow, a month wait. I wish I had known this when I purchased it.
Seems to be the way every new effect is being marketed today. |

Hi Tdowell:
First, thank you so much for your purchase of the trick! Second, I'm so sorry if you feel you were misled in any way regarding an availability date. To be completely honest, I only found out last week that the tricks were being listed for sale at some dealer's sites, even though they are not ready yet. I'm also sorry that when you purchased it, it was not made clear to you that it was not going to be available for a little while. But as I’m sure you realize, this sort of thing is unfortunately beyond a magic trick inventor’s control. I and any inventor will probably agree that what the dealers do with their listings, advertisements, and selling terms is their business and not ours. I’m sure there was no harm or on-purpose misleading intended by the dealer. Perhaps there was a miscommunication and it wasn’t clearly explained that Third Degree Burn would not be ready for a few weeks—I just don’t know, and am of course speculating. However, I think that when you DO receive it you will be very pleased and will fry a lot of people with it! Sorry again, and I hope that this delay does not in any way diminish your satisfaction with Third Degree Burn when you get it. Thank you for your time. Jason |

No problem Jason, your right that the issue has to do with the way these things are listed with the dealers. They need to indicate that the item is a pre order and give some indication as to how long to expect. I was under the impression that the effect was available now because it was listed without any warning.
I would buy it anyway, but I would have waited until it was available. I suppose a few weeks is tolerable. I sold my Pyro Perception in anticipation of this which sounds much better to me. |

Have the spec write the card they thought of on a piece of flash pad & fold it . Lite the flass pad holding it at the fingertips & reveal the blister of the selected card !! I read this somewhere before using pyro perception .

I agree that dealers should not list items on their website if it is not in stock or as pre orders months before the item is released then don't even tell you that it is a preorder! There is something called budgeting a month that most people do and this really screws it up. Ah well.

I have been a victim of this practice repeatedly, and frankly, I am beyond sick of the practice. Dealers take heed....if you keep doing this, we will go to a dealer who gives proper consideration to the customer.
