OK, ok - not exactly fame, and not really a fortune, BUT a chance to show off on a TV show. Read on...
I've been struck by the number of members of the Café who post video demonstrations of their performances on sites like YouTV. Some of these are really good! I am making a TV clip show for a UK broadcaster which is a compilation of clips harvested from the internet. Most of it will comprise those mad movie clips, cartoons and so-called "viral" ads that we circulate by email when we should be working. But I'm keen to include some magic from amateur performers, and that's where you come in. I'd like to see your movies. YOu can either send me ones you have already posted on hosting sites, or make new ones. With this being TV, I'm going to be very picky. Out of focus shots, wobbly camera, poor lighting and so on, won't work. That said, I'm not looking for professionally-shot material! We will pay a fee if we use your material in the show. Don't get excited: you won't be buying a new car, but it'll pay for a couple of new magic books and some DVD's. We'll also send you a copy of the show starring YOU! (In return you'll sign away all the rights to your performance and we'll take your firstborn child, but hey, that's showbiz...) I daresay there'll be a lot of card and coin stuff. That's cool. But I'm also really keen on weird: mad illusions, gross-out, street-levs etc. If it's funny so much the better! Don't PM me via the Café, please. Instead, contact me at my work email which is ross.welford@spungoldtv.com and I'll send you more information. Thanks! Ross |

Sooo.. How many different times will you be able to show CHM, Melting Point, or an ACR? Unlike someone walking into a pane of glass, or taking a shot in the "nads" which one can never get enough of. One can only watch so many card tricks.

Just a tip, Chris (and anyone else) - webcam probably won't cut it, in terms of picture-quality. Blown up to TV size it'll be impossibly grainy. But normal DV (the sort in domestic home-video cameras) will be fine. Contact me for more information before you go and spend hours practising and performing something I may not be able to use!

Ross you should put some of Twins stuff from MVD on the show. He really is awesome. If you ask me I say you should use his Cabaret 3 Coin Act and his Invisible Palm video.
