I'll ask here on the Café again. I'm accepting submissions for possible inclusion in a book on Card Warp routines and presentations.
Or perhaps you know of or have you seen a cool version in the past that you can give me some info on. I have most of the standard references. I'm looking for unpublished or published routines from lectures or notes. Thanks Jeff Pierce

Are you including routines that use a card and dollar bill instead of two cards? I'm quite fond of the version Michael Close uses in his Worker's series.
Though I don't use it, I am also amused by Eugene Burger's patter for the Card Warp - gotta love anything that mentions the Spanish Inquisition. |

Another vote for Vinnys routine. You get both a card warp and a torn and restored effect in one. Its can be foung in his dvd The Godfather.

Thank you clamon86,
like I said I have most of the standard references like these. I'm now looking for unknown routines or routines in lecture notes. Rannie, Vinnys routine was the first one I received when I started this project. Jeff Pierce

Card Warp DVD
http://www.hanklee.org/xcart/customer/pr......p;page=1 It's been said that Roy Walton invented one of the most original card effects of all time with his Card Warp. Ever since then, magicians have taken this concept to even more baffling heights. How can a flat two-dimensional object like a playing card turn completely over even when folded into another flat object? * Card Warp - Michael Ammar * The Warpedist Cards - Scotty York * Dollar Bill Warp - Paul Diamond * Star Warp, Michael Ammar * Warp II, - Bruce Cervon * Dr. Strangetrick - Michael Close * The Inquisition - Eugene Burger (performance only) Price: $ 19.95

Not to take anything away from Roy Walton (whose material I absolutely love, and whose magical brilliance I positively admire). I have since found a copy of the original and it really is a nice piece of magic. |

In Wesley James book Enchantments, there is a awesome version called Hyper card or something like that. Also, Tyler Wilsons new book teaches his amazing torn out center view, looks amazing!!

I'm not sure if this wil be helpful but. .
In an old Genii magazine featuring Jamy Ian Swiss, he has a section ealing whih his experiences as a teacher. As he talks about one of his students scripts, he mentions seeing only a few presentations of the effect thar made it memorable. One was by Eugene Burger. The other was by Peter Samelson. I'm a big fan of Mr. Samelson's work, and to my knowledge it's never been published. Might be worth looking into. Best of luck in your search Matt |

An ending that I came up with while doing Starwarp was to do the standard routine then the tearing of the card and bill in half. I would allow the spectators to examine the bill with half of it face outward and the other half face inward. While the spectators were looking at the torn bill I would steal the tip and Quadraflex bill. I would then pick up the bill and restore it ala Quadraflex.
In 1974 I put a Card Warp inspired effect on the market called "No Fold Card Warp". Two years later (1976) I included the routine in my first lecture notes "Magic Behind Bars". When I get back from FFFF I will look up the notes and will PM you the routine. Take care and take cards Antony Gerard |

Card Warp may be my favorite card effect. One day while up at Tannens, years ago, a fellow showed me a way to open the effect and create the half tear with no funny moves. I'm sorry to say I can't remember how and have found no one since who could show me a way that looked as clean.

Hi Jeff,
I lost track... Has anyone mentioned Darwin Ortiz's Card Warp Deck yet? |

I saw Tyler Wilsons version at Andi Gladwin and Rob James Session Convention back in January and it's fantastic, it's called Scarred Warp and you tear out the centre of the covering top card to reveal what the 'warp' point looks like...

This is my version of Cervon's ...it's beautiful, and it smokes them! A "whole" card pulled from a deck, and signed...those of you that know Card Warp, know what I'm getting at...
