Let's not forget Roy Walton and the effect he presented to the magic community. Originally there was a price associated with the purchase of this effect. I really wonder how many magicians have paid for the effect or even requested the use his idea in their modifications...

I know card warp and I have the moves down pat. I have also seen the Ammar version. The thing is I just don't have suitable patter for the effect so I don't do it. If someone could PM me or something with the patter they use that would be great. I didn't like the Ammar patter either.

Jeff,
there is a routine "The Contortionist" by Michael Giles, that starts with a zig-zag-card, followed by some warp-handlings, even one where the card turns over flat, without being foldet. |

Card Wrap DVD from World's Greatest Magic Production you'll learn the secrets to Roy Walton's original two-card brainchild, as expertly performed and taught by Michael Ammar. Then, you'll watch and learn some different and original presentations for the original Card Warp as Scotty York performs and teaches his decidedly adult version and Eugene Burger uses the cards to demonstrate a horrifying history lesson. From there, you'll move on to even more visually amazing versions that use a card and a borrowed banknote, such as Michael Close's Dr. Strangetrick and Howie Schwartzman's Star Warp, as taught by Ammar again. Paul Diamond will demonstrate how to make the face of a deck change when it's wrapped in a bill, even when the spectator holds it. You'll also see and learn Bruce Cervon's Warp II, possibly the most baffling version of Card Warp ever created.

Hey South Paw,
Thanks for the interest! As Jeff already mentioned, Scarred Warp can be found in my new book, Dominatricks. http://www.andigladwin.co.uk/products/dominatricks/ Joey, I feel your pain brotha, I disliked every patter I had heard for Card Warp as well. It forced me to create a premise which fit my style while at the same time justifying the need to bring the cards out from my pocket rather than the deck. Tyler Wilson |

You're welcome to include an adult oriented script that I wrote a few weeks ago. My patients and friends like it.
Brokeback Card Warp by jpearson (jocdoc@medicine-in-motion.com) Requirements: 4 court cards: 2 Kings, 1 Queen, 1 Jack (prepared in the usual way). The moves are pretty obvious so will not be mentioned here. I pair one black King with a red Queen and use a red King for the ending. ---- Once upon a time, in a far away kingdom, there was a beautiful palace in which dwelled a powerful King and his lovely Queen. Alas, as this was the Kingdom of San Francisco, there were plenty of other Queens around and the King was often distracted to the point where he often left the castle grounds to check them out. This left his Queen feeling very lonely. One fine day, while the King was away off in the village, a young and handsome prince visited the castle. He introduced himself to the Queen and invited “Jack be nimble, Jack be quick. Would her majesty like to ride on my magic stick?” To impress the Queen, the prince demonstrated an amazing feat of flexibility. The Queen, being starved for some really good sex, quickly took the Prince up on his proposal. She literally threw herself at him and wrapped her arms around this skinny torso. Alas, what followed next should not fall upon young ears. They took to each other like rabid forest creatures in heat. (One might even think of unicorns because they were so horny.) In fact, the friction that they generated begat such heat that the Prince’s prophylactic melted and discolored the entire lower half of his body! Suddenly, the heavy oak doors to the royal chambers burst forth and the King rushed into the room, discovering the amorous couple in, let’s say, a very compromising position. He shouted "What's all this?!" The Prince tried to make the best of a bad situation, quipping to the king “Don’t you remember Sire? You told me that the next time I was in town I should look up your wife!” [My apology to Woody Allen here for stealing this line from his movie "Everything that you wanted to know about sex..."] The King quickly called for his guards and ordered “Off with their heads!” And like that, both were promptly dispatched. Just then, another Queen (King in drag) popped his head in and said (lisping) “Hurry sweetie, we’re going to be late for the next showing of Brokeback Jousting!” And the two of them scurried off together and lived happily ever after. The End. --- jeff in san diego IBM Ring #76

Oops - found a typo and could not find a way to edit the post.
The line “ Would her majesty like to ride on my magic stick?” should have read "Would her majesty like to jump on Jack's magic stick?" jpearson

.....just to add to Evolve's comments above.....L & L is doing a great job with their World's Greatest Magic Collection of DVD's. Each focuses on a specific topic and gives you the opportunity to witness variations of a specific effect or theme from several different performers. They are all reasonably priced at $19.99.

Some years ago Paul Green taught me a novel finish to the Standard Card Warp.
I am not a liberty to disclose it, but ask Paul and he might be prepared to contribute it to a book of routines. |

Hi Wayne,
Thanks for remembering! Further, thanks for keeping the covenant concerning this routine. Roy Walton was promised that my routine would not be shared--Good news though. Paul Harris contacted Roy, and Roy has allowed me to share this routine. It will be seeing the light of publication with Paul Harris' new project. I want to thank Jeff for understanding, too. His book will be awesome. Regards, Paul Green |

I also LOVE Vinny's take on Card Warp. You're one CREATIVE guy there Vinny. You floored me with yours.
Just got the Card Warp dvd by L&L yesterday, and saw Bruce Cervon's handling for the first time. Another killer routine. Can't wait til you get your book done, published and released Jeff. I think your pre-orders are going to 'overwhelm' you on this one. That is, judging by the KILLER handling for Drop Dead Queens. LOVE THAT! You're another VERY creative guy. Keep feeding Jeff you guys/gals so he can finish his book. BEST... smitty |
