This is really a question for Canadian magicians who work with a flipper coin.
I'm looking to learn Dan Watkins'"4 Coins Your Hands" routine from "Coinvanish 2". Dan recommends the Schoolcraft flipper for a number of reasons, and I can understand why. My question is, having seen shells by Roy Kueppers [and the workmanship seems very good], will his Canadian twoonie flipper coin be up to the same standard as the Schoolcraft half? I'd like to support Roy if so, and buy local, but I want the advantages Dan speaks of in the Schoolcraft item. Any advice on this welcome... |

I am sure Mr. Kuepper's will be great...everything so far I have got has been top notch! I am sure he would not mind at all you emailing him...
Good Luck! |

Thanks Tanner, I will contact Roy directly. I'm hoping first to get some feedback from someone who [ideally] has experience of both gaffs. From what I've read, you really want the best in a flipper...

For my routine you need the flipper to be able to fall open via gravity without shaking it, and it needs to be able to lay flat open under its own weight. As long as the coin has those attributes, it can be used for my routine. I only have personal experience with the Schoolcraft one.

Rutabaga,
I use a flipper quite often and have many of Roys gaffs. I think Roy would be happy to insure that a flipper has the qualities your looking for; having said that, if you purchase one already at the den, I have some tips on how you can make this work for you as well. PM me if you like. Dan - wonderful routine by the way. B. |

Hey thee gang. On the topic (I know an older thread but still the same topic ) I purchasd a flipper made by Roy today and it came without the band in place. I am wondering has anyone replaced or installed the bands on a flipper by Kueppers? It seems the anchor point is glued/epoxied in place and I do not want to mess up the coin so I am deferring to those who may already own one of his flippers for advise.
Thank you. Chris Johnson |
